Besides the Apple iPhone 17e announcement, Apple also quietly refreshed its iPad Air with the M4 chipset. The update was announced alongside Apple’s broader 2026 product announcements and highlights enhanced capabilities for both creative and productivity workflows.

The iPad Air M4 Variant

As mentioned, the new iPad Air now runs on Apple’s custom M4 chip, previously introduced in the company’s laptop lineup. The M4 brings improved processing power, enabling smoother multitasking, faster creative tasks such as video editing and graphics workflows, and more responsive performance across apps. This upgrade also enhances support for Apple Intelligence, allowing users to take advantage of advanced AI features and workflows right on the tablet.

The tablet also incorporates the N1 chip, which adds support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, ensuring faster and more reliable connections with accessories, networks, and data streams.
