Today, Apple didn't hold back from unveiling the next-gen iPhone 14 series. In this news article, we will be focusing on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with some new innovative features. We will get to the price later (because it's not pretty), so let's start with the features.
Out of all the features, the most interesting thing that Apple did is probably introduce the Dynamic Island feature. While the notch got replaced by a regular pill-shaped cutout front camera, Dynamic Island's function actually interacts around the cutout depending on whichever task. For example, a phone call will enlarge the cutout with an animated calling notification. This goes the same for connecting AirPods, alarms and many many more.
Since we are on the topic of the display, the iPhone 14 Pro variants displays have been upgraded to 1600 nits and 2000 nits in Peak HDR and Peak Outdoor brightness respectively. The displays use LTPO technologies which should work well with the Always-On function that will come in the next major iOS update. Also, the iPhone 14 Pro measures 6.1-inches whereas the iPhone 14 Pro Max is still 6.7-inches.
Another new thing is that the iPhone 14 Pro variants are finally using a 48MP primary camera. Combined with the new A16 Bionic chipset as well as larger apertures and sensors, the pro variants camera upgrade seems to be a huge one as they are able to capture images with fine textures in low-light settings, even when zoomed in. The ultrawide and telephoto still use 12MP but the sensors are larger as well.
The main theme colour seems to be Deep Purple this year, accompanied by the usual black, white and gold variants. There are other notable features that are worth mentioning as well, such as going pure eSIM (but only for the US market), Emergency SOS via satellite network, crash detection, Cinematic 4K24 and others.
