Indonesia’s Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita has reiterated that Apple’s iPhone 16 Series is still not allowed in the country as the tech giant has yet to fulfil the requirements. In fact, Agus asserted that using the iPhone 16 Series is illegal in the country currently, even if they’re bought from overseas.
According to the Indonesian portal Kompas, the Industry Minister said that any of the new Apple smartphone series spotted being used or sold within Indonesia are illegal. He added that if iPhone 16 Series are brought into Indonesia and are operational, they’re illegal as the Indonesian Government has yet to authorise their distribution.
Agus even urged Indonesians to report anyone seen using or selling the iPhone 16 Series in the country. It is unknown when Indonesia will eventually authorise the sale of smartphone series in the country,
