realme is reportedly planning to beat Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition’s wired charging speeds by introducing 240W wired charging on the upcoming realme GT Neo 5. Currently, the Redmi smartphone sports 210W wired charging, the world’s fastest on a smartphone.
Revealed by reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the GT Neo 5 is allegedly coming in 2 variants, one of which comes with a 4600mAh battery and 240W wired charging. As for the other variant, the tipster claimed that it will feature a 5000mAh battery with 150W wired charging.
This may come as no surprise to those that follow the latest advancements in wired charging, as realme’s sister company OPPO had previously demoed the same charging technology earlier this year. Hence, realme may be the first of the three sister tech companies (OPPO, realme and OnePlus) to commercially introduce the 240W wired charging before the feature makes its way to OnePlus and OPPO’s smartphones.
Of course, do take this information with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. Well, given that the same 240W wired charging had already been demoed before, we’re not surprised if this rumour turns out to be true.
