realme today finally unveiled the highly-anticipated realme GT2 Master Explorer during a live event in China. Offering top of the line specs and a rather unique design, the device is officially the world's first smartphone to sport LPDDR5X RAM.

Available with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, the GT2 Master Explorer is also powered by the 8+ Gen 1 SoC; making it the first smartphone by realme to feature Qualcomm’s flagship mobile processor. Storage-wise, the device offers up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

According to realme's official Weibo account, the GT2 Master Explorer has a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED with a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels that is powered by the X7 independent graphic chip for ultra-low latency frame insertion. It also supports 10-bit colours, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut and HDR10+.

The screen also has a punch-hole design to house a 16MP selfie camera. As for the rear, there’s a 50MP main + 50MP ultrawide + 2MP microscope triple-camera setup. The main camera uses the Sony IMX766 sensor and has OIS, while the  microscope lens offers up to 40x magnification.

In terms of battery, the GT2 Master Explorer is equipped with a 5000mAh battery. There’s also support for 100W fast charging and realme will also include a 100W gallium nitride (GaN) charger with the device that can fully charge it in 25 minutes.

As for its design, the device has a plain leather back with a metal casing that is fastened with rivets at the edges. As we’ve reported previously, the design was inspired by travel trunks of the olden days and definitely fits the theme for a ‘master explorer’ smartphone.
