More details of the realme GT5 have surfaced as expected. Yesterday, the company confirmed that the device would launch on 28 August 2023. As we've said, the company will unveil more details in the lead-up to the launch. Now, we have confirmation on some advanced features.
According to realme's announcement, the realme GT5 will sport a display with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. This is supported by an X7 display chip that also delivers high image quality. realme also confirmed that the phone would have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 24GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of internal storage. The company didn't mention if the 24GB includes extended RAM, but it's certainly a possibility.
Besides these specs, the realme GT5 could launch with some interesting features. The one introduced earlier today is the option to adjust the clock speed for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2's CPU. From what we understand, you can do so for each CPU core. In the example posted by Weibo, the Cortex-X3 CPU core was set to 3.2GHz (default), but it can be underclocked to 2.5GHz. Honestly, it seems pointless. But for people who want to reduce the phone's power consumption, reducing the clock speed to 3GHz could be something to consider.
The realme GT5 is shaping up to be a smartphone with quite an impressive set of specs so far. While its CPU clock adjustment feature doesn't seem all that useful, realme could have more features to show off as the launch event approaches. But has this phone piqued your interest yet?
