About two weeks ago, a reliable source claimed that new Q series smartphones from realme would be coming soon. This has been proven true after the company officially released a launch poster for the realme Q2 series, which will be launched on 13 October 2020.

According to GSMArena, the realme Q2 series will come in two models - Q2 and realme Q2 Pro. Not much info about the specs have been revealed, a Geekbench record for what may be the Q2 Pro (RMX2117) was found. It shows that the device will be running on Android 10, comes with 6GB, and has an octa-core CPU belonging to an ARM MT6853V chipset. This is most likely the Dimensity 720 chipset, which was launched in July 2020 and started appearing in mid-range phones last month.

realme has also announced that it's developing realmeUI 2.0. As you may have guessed, realmeUI 2.0 is based on Android 11 and should deliver a host of new features. Since the realme Q2 series will be relatively new, there's a chance that it will come with the new UI out of the box. Besides the UI, the realme Q2 series is also expected to come with a 48MP main rear camera, under-display front camera, and 65W fast-charging.

Now, the first realme Q series never made its way to Malaysia, so it's hard to say if this one will do so. But it'll be interesting to see if it will have anything that makes it stand out among the other mid-range realme devices.
