In recent weeks, details of the vivo X100 series have been popping up steadily. The company even revealed some specs last week and confirmed the launch date to be 13 November 2023. Let's see what the vivo X100 series has in store for us now that it's officially launched in China.

First, there's the standard vivo X100 smartphone. As previously revealed, it features a Dimensity 9300 chipset with an octa-core CPU and a 7th-gen self-developed APU. This chipset should deliver 120% better performance and 50% improved energy efficiency. Also, the phone packs a 5000mAh battery and a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

Of course, as a vivo X series smartphone, the vivo X100 has high-end cameras. This includes the 50MP VCS VCS True Color main camera, 64MP ZEISS telephoto camera, and 50MP super wide-angle camera. In particular, the main camera sports a 1/1.49-inch sensor that enhances colour reproduction and clarity. It also incorporates CIPA 4.5-level image stabilisation tech.

The other cameras are equally high-end. First, there's the telephoto camera. It supports up to 100x digital zoom, has a 70mm equivalent focal length, and its macro zoom has a minimum distance of 15cm. As for the super wide-angle cam, enhanced low-light performance and 4K 60FPS ultra wide-angle video recording are some of its features.

There's also a vivo X100 Pro model, which offers better cameras. It has the same Dimensity 9300 chipset, but a larger 5400mAh battery and sports a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor for the main camera. The lens also has Zeiss T* coating to reduce 50% reflections for improved HDR effect. Moreover, the telephoto camera has a 100mm equivalent focal length and f/2.5 aperture. On top of that, the Pro model has the vivo V3 imaging chip for 4K 60FPS video recording, even with the ultra-wide-angle camera.

The vivo X100 and vivo X100 Pro are now available in China, with prices starting from 3999 yuan (~RM2583) and 4999 yuan (~RM3229), respectively. We don't have a Malaysian launch date yet but expect to hear some updates from vivo Malaysia in the coming weeks. From experience, the company could launch just the standard model here as early as December 2023 before bringing in the Pro variants in January 2024.
