HTC has just announced a new phone in Taiwan called the HTC Desire 626 which will probably replace the existing HTC Desire 620 available in the market. The phone continues with the same design profile as the recently announced HTC devices with signature Boom Sound speakers on the front. For tech specs, the HTC Desire 626 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. There is 1GB of RAM on board along with 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via MicroSD. There will be a 5-inch 720p display on the front. The rear BSI camera will be of 13MP with f/2.2 aperture and the front shooter will be a selfie friendly 5MP camera. The phone isn't the slimmest device available in the market but at 8.19mm, the thickness is pretty decent. Also, the phone weighs only about 140 grams. There will be a 2000 mAh battery inside the device to power all these specs. The HTC Desire 626 also supports high-speed 4G LTE networks, specifically bands 3/7 which makes it compatible in Malaysia as well. The phone supports the company's Dot View cases but there are still no details yet on a specific Malaysia release date or pricing just yet.

Despite just coming out with their Corning Gorilla Glass 4, Corning have announced that they are developing a new protective glass layer with the capabilities of sapphire crystal. The new glass is called Project Phire and combines the shock and drop resistance of Gorilla Glass 4 with the scratch resistance of sapphire crystal. Personally, we've had no problems with scratches for our current Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protected devices but there are those who need a tougher alternative. Hopefully, Project Phire will result in some more affordable sapphire crystal quality glass and not just make another alternative material, but so far, Corning's track record has been quite good. No news when we might see it just yet but we expect it later this year after manufacturers start rolling out Gorilla Glass 4 devices.
"We told you last year that sapphire was great for scratch performance but didn't fare well when dropped. So, we created a product that offers the same superior damage resistance and drop performance of Gorilla Glass 4 with scratch resistance that approaches sapphire."-James Clappin, Corning

MWC is one of the most important events for smartphone manufacturers as it provides a platform for these companies to show off their tech. Samsung and HTC have almost confirmed the launch of their flagship devices, but we haven't heard much about Sony's own Sony Xperia Z4 flagship. Some even say considering the lack of information and leaks about the device, the company may not announce it at the event. However, a recent leak from Weibo says otherwise. The leak reveals the front panel of a device which it claims is the upcoming Sony flagship. The phone does have the traditional Sony branding on top and the design looks more or less like the existing Xperia Z3. From the images, it looks like the bezels have become much thinner and the front camera and sensors have swapped places. The camera now lies on the left side and the sensor on the right. As for the tech specs, the Xperia Z4 is expected to come with the latest Snapdragon 810 processor along with 4GB of RAM. The phone may feature a 5.5-inch 2K display, 20.7MP rear camera, 4.8MP front facing wide-angle camera and a 3420 mAh battery. Sony will most likely unveil the device at MWC 2015, so stay tuned for more updates.

Samsung is all set to announce its flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S6 at MWC 2015. The company has already started sending out invites for their Unpacked event. Still, Samsung have yet to show off its upcoming device in pictures and there are a number of rumors and images floating around on the internet claiming to be this revolutionary device. Now, some renders of the Galaxy S6 have come up online showing a glimpse of what the next Samsung flagship could look like. There have been some rumors claiming that the S6 will take its design inspiration from the Apple iPhone 6. For example, a previous leak showed off a chassis with port and speaker placement similar to the Apple's flagship phone. The renders seem to have taken inspiration from these leaks. Hence, the overall design renders of the phone looks a lot more rounded than traditional Galaxy flagships. If rumors are to be believed, then the S6 will reportedly feature a metal body measuring in at 143.52mm x 70.70mm x 7.19mm. The company is also said to be working on swappable back covers for the flagship model, but we are not sure of anything at the moment. MWC is just a few more weeks, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, check out the renders of the Galaxy S6 for yourself.
