Huawei recently announced its sales earnings for H1 2015 with a marked 30% increase year-on-year resulting in 175.9 billion CNY (RM107.9 billion). While many of these earnings come from the enterprise side of their busines it should be noted that their consumer smartphone business have done exceedingly well with the Huawei Mate 7 and P8 both doing well. Work and investments continue to focus on 4G networks while laying the foundation for future expansion. Check out what Huawei had to say about these achievements below.

Xiaomi and Uber have partnered up to offer on-demand delivery of the recently released Xiaomi Mi Note smartphone. Priced at RM1549 the Mi Note brings a 5.7-inch 2.5D glass covered display to the table with a 13MP rear camera packing in optical image stabilization and 4K video recording. This Xiaomi - Uber collaboration will be available on 27 July 2015 via the Uber app. The process is just like ordering a ride from Uber, users simply open the Uber app, use the slider at the bottom of the screen to select "Xiaomi" (which shows Xiaomi-orange colored Uber cars on the map equipped to deliver the new smartphone), and hit request. Payment will be charged directly to the credit card tied to a rider's Uber account and a Mi Note will be delivered to the user within a few minutes. This will let you not only get the Xiaomi Mi Note a day earlier than it's online release, but will also deliver you the Mi Note with as little fuss as possible. Logitech have recently revealed their latest Logitech G310 Atlas Dawn Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard for the portable gamers and keyboard enthusiasts on the move. Mechanical keyboards are known for their overall better feel and performance but not often for their compact portability, something which the Logitech G310 offers along with many other features. This includes exclusive Logitech Romer-G mechanical switches for faster response, better actuation and durability, central backlighting and integrated Logitech Arx Control for improved second screen capabilities. The Logitech G310 Atlas Dawn Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is available in August at all authorized resellers for a suggested retail price of RM499 inclusive of GST but for more information, check out the Logitech site.

Samsung Malaysia Electronics have sent out their invitations for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy A8 and it appears that it will arrive in Malaysia on 30 July 2015. Previous reports have the Galaxy A8 as the thinnest Samsung smartphone to date at 5.9mm thin at it's thinnest point. It will have a full metal frame like it's other Samsung Galaxy A siblings but also come with flagship features like a 16MP ISOCELL rear camera, 5MP wide f/1.9 aperture front camera, fingerprint sensor and 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display. No official pricing details have been revealed yet, but early rumours indicate that it could go for RM1888. U Mobile has just launched their new U Mobile POWER Prepaid Pack with FREE 1GB High-speed mobile Internet every month for life (or at least while the account is active), the lowest call rate to all networks at 5 sen, FREE Basic Internet and more. The plan is obviously prepaid with a starter pack available for RM8.50 in Malaysia starting from today. Existing users can switch to the new POWER Prepaid Pack plan on 1 August 2015. To get the 1GB High-speed Internet for every month deal, subscribers need only make a one-time top-up minimum of RM10 but you need to register and do so before 31 December 2015. The folks at Mi Malaysia have just launched the Xiaomi Mi Note officially for Malaysia. The version with 64GB storage is priced at a fairly affordable RM1549 and available for purchase at 12pm on 28 July 2015. Initially revealed earlier in January 2015, the Mi Note combines a full metal unibody frame with a 3D glass back and 2.5D glass front (both using Corning Gorilla Glass) for a smartphone that still looks as stunning as ever. Standout features are the 6.95mm thin curved glass body, 13MP f/2.0 rear camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and Hi-Fi audio with dedicated audio chip. Other tech specs are a mix of old and new with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 5.7-inch display, 4G LTE connectivity and a 3000 mAh battery. The new RM1549 pricing is a lot better than previous third-party seller pricing around RM1669 especially since this version packs in 64GB of storage but since it is a localized version you also get 4K UHD video recording which was missing in the previous 16GB storage Xiaomi Mi Note we reviewed. The ASUS PadFone S was one of the better value smartphones of 2014, especially since you could slot it into a larger 10.1-inch full HD dock which could then be converted into a laptop with a bluetooth keyboard attachment. Still available from RM777 to RM899 you can check out our detailed PadFone S review for more information but it looks like details about the ASUS PadFone S2 have appeared. This includes tech specs with a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB / 64GB storage, 5.5-inch 2K or 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution display amd 20.7MP rear camera. An 8MP front camera will be available as well with a 3060 mAh battery. The PadFone S 2 tablet dock is expected to maintain the same 10.1-inch display size but bump up the resolution accordingly to 2K or 1440 x 2560 pixel resolutions with a larger 5100 mAh battery. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet but it is expected in March 2015 for probably around RM1299 for the smartphone alone.
