So what's after CES 2016? Well, that would be the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 in Barcelona. AndLG has announced that they are preparing a surprise for us there, as they will unveil a “major smartphone” to the market.
The teaser, which shows a green jukebox speculated that the “major smartphone” could be the LG G5. A render concept image was even created according to an eyewitness from CNet Korea, showing us what it could look like. From the render, it seems that LG is going full metal on the G5, the four corner edge are all curved and the volume buttons are located at the left side, it's also notable that the way the battery is removed is rather unique and seems a lot easier to take out.

Not just too long ago, the Lenovo unveiled the “killer” K4 Note in India and now even the Lemon 3 is available as well (not internationally though). We just got news that TENAA just passed a new Lenovo handset which was speculated to a Lenovo K5 Note under the code-name K52t38.
According to TENAA, the device will sport an octa-core chip clocked at 1.8GHz and 2GB RAM, the standard 16GB/32GB storage, 13MP for the main camera and 8MP for the front, the display if 5.5-inch Full HD IPS, fueled by 3500 mAh battery.

A new Lenovo smartphone was released just recently and although it's called the Lemon 3 (get it? lol), it might not carry the same name internationally. But for now, lets just call it the Lemon 3 until Lenovo gives an official international name.

ASUS Malaysia have just launched the long awaited ASUS ZenFone Zoom. Designed with the cameraphone enthusiast in mind the ZenFone Zoom packs in a 2.5GHz Intel Atom Z3590 processor, 13MP PixelMaster rear camera with 3x optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), laser autofocus, 10-element Hoya lens and dual-tone LED flash. The FCC in the USA have just recently cleared Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) and it will come in black, white, and gold colour options. Image and tech specs were leaked as well.

Apart from the Huawei Mate 8 and other CES 2016 announcements, Huawei also revealed that they managed to ship 108 million smartphones for 2015, gaining the #3 position in the global smartphone market and the top smartphone position in China. Revenues were more than $20 billion for 2015, almost a 70 percent increase over 2014.
Huawei attributes this success to continuous collaborations made with other top brands such as Google (resulting in the Huawei Nexus 6P), Swarovski (resulting in new Huawei Watch designs) and Harmon Kardon (resulting in the MediaPad M2 tablets). Here in Malaysia, Huawei not only rolled out the Nexus 6P, Mate S and Honor 7 but also started off their Smart City solution. According to Huawei, 2016 will involve more collaborations, building upon the momentum of their achievements in 2015.

Virtual reality has often been a subject of science fiction works from movies and novels, but Samsung's latest mind-boggling technology says otherwise, you can actually see more and more people using it especially in YouTube and Facebook lately. Virtual reality has never been this close but it's here now, and Samsung brought it to us even closer by releasing the Samsung Gear VR two weeks ago, with quite a reasonable price if one might add for RM459 (with GST). It's also compatible with Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+ smartphones.

You know there are been many rumours on what the Samsung Galaxy S7 series tech specs would be like, well the latest one from Weibo seems promising enough as the information given was based on an AnTuTu benchmark score.
Under the code-name SM-G935A, which is the Galaxy S7 Edge model; it seems that device could sport the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, backed up by 4GB of RAM, a 64GB internal storage, a 5.1-inch display on 1440 x 2560 resolution, a 12MP rear camera + 5MP front camera, and equipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

If you still remember your history, two years ago Microsoft bought Nokia and this prevented the company from releasing Nokia branded smartphones. Well that's all over now as it's expired on 31 December 2015, and Nokia should be making a come back this year as according to Nokia CEO, Rajeev Suri.
That being said, you can also say that we can expect many rumours and image leaks from Nokia this point forward. The image leak from Weibo seems legitimate with the brand font and style, rumours had it that it's the full metal Nokia C1 and the body measurement looks like around 5 – 5.5-inch. And according to industry sources reports, there will be three brand new Nokia smartphones in development and are on the way to be released this year.
