Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) began its six launch events sale on 16th October 2015 nationwide with the Apple iPhone 6s and Apple iPhone 6s Plus. Many excited Apple fans queued up from 10pm to get their hands on Apple’s latest smartphones and other goodies. The Apple fans who pre-ordered the latest iPhone also enjoyed an additional RM200 rebate after signing up for the Digi SmartPlan 98, meanwhile the customers who weren’t Digi users got an RM300 rebate after switching to Digi. Digi also did the midnight delivery of pre-ordered iPhones to their customers’ doorsteps. 

After the various midnight launches last night, the Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are now officially available in Malaysia. Yesterday we did manage to handle both the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus and both feel as slim and premium as the previous iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The major difference here is that only the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have gold and rose gold colour options, the other smartphones, including the iPhone 5s only come in silver and space grey. Pricing remains the same despite the ringgit stabilizing somewhat at RM4.18 against 1 USD. This probably means we'll have to see a drop back to the previous RM3.5 or RM3.3 levels for Apple to reduce the pricing further. Celcom's midnight grand launch for the Apple iPhone 6s and Apple iPhone 6s Plus has gone off with a bang with the first 6 to line up for the launch allowed to buy their smartphone of choice at just RM6.50. Featuring the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 5s, subscribers can get the smartphones by signing with FIRST by Celcom plans with the iPhone 6s from RM1058 and the iPhone 6s Plus from RM1478. In addition to the existing Internet and Celcom Wifi data, Celcom will also be offering 12GB of complimentary data at 1GB per month for the next 12 months. Subscribers can also trade-in their current Apple iPhones for discounts of up to RM1900. Currently, the Apple iPhone 6s with 16GB storage is going for RM3199, making this a fairly good deal, especially if you like Celcom's faster network. Celcom recently announced their Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus pre-order plans up until their usual midnight launch at 12am on 16 October 2015. While you have to pre-order with Celcom by walking in and physically filling up a form at a participating Blue Cube and Celcom store, you can get additional benefits with up to RM2000 worth of extra goodies and 12GB worth of complimentary Internet or data (1GB of data every month for the next 12 months). Specially selected pre-order subscribers can also get their iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus delivered door-to-door at midnight on 16 October 2015.

Celcom have also released their iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus plan bundles revealing that you can sign up for a FIRST Basic 85, FIRST Basic 85 with Max up All and FIRST Elite plans. The plans come with both Internet and SMS OPTIMISER and you get 2 SIMS for the FIRST Elite plan. In addition, you can also get complimentary 12GB worth of Internet on top of the existing Internet and complimentary Celcom Wifi of each plan. Dell has announced a new line-up of notebook and desktop personal computers for their Dell Inspiron, XPS and Vostro series today at their Dell Product Showcase. Featuring the new 6th Generation Intel Core processors based on the Skylake microarchitecture optimized for Microsoft Windows 10 the various personal computers include the Dell XPS 13 and Dell XPS 15 which feature the virtually borderless InfintyEdge Display and a premium carbon fiber and machined aluminum chassis. New devices in the Inspiron series include the Inspiron 24 7000 and 3000 series All-in-ones, Inspiron 7000 series 2-in-1 convertible and Inspiron 7000 and 5000 series laptops for every type of computing consumer. The Inspiron 24 7000 Series All-in-one desktop in particular features the Intel RealSense 3D camera with a 23.8-inch display and ultra-slim form factor. The Vostro series saw the new Vostro 14 5000 Series which is the thinnest 14-inch Vostro laptop for SMBs and professionals to date. All of the Dell devices will be available (if they aren't already) on the Dell site and authorized retail stores with Malaysia release dates and pricing as follows:

Asides from the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser series, ASUS Malaysia recently held a media briefing that revealed a roadmap of coming ZenFones for 2015. This includes the ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition, ASUS ZenFone Zoom and ASUS ZenFone Max. The ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition will feature all the highest-end tech specs including a 64-bit Intel Atom processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. ASUS will also include a 128GB microSD card as part of the package for a still unknown price tag sometime in November 2015. The ZenFone Zoom on the other hand offers a 3x optical zoom without any telescoping lens while the ZenFone Max will pack in a 5000 mAh battery, both with expected Malaysia release dates in December 2015. No pricing details yet, but we expect the ZenFone Deluxe Special Edition and ZenFone Zoom to range from at least RM1000 and above. While the battery is massive, the other tech specs on the ZenFone Max are decidedly midrange indicating a price tag of around RM799 or RM899 for the ZenFone Max. Sony Mobile Communications recently announced that they will be bringing in the Sony Xperia Z5 Series consisting of the Xperia Z5 Compact Dual, Xperia Z5 Dual and the world’s first 4K smartphone, the Xperia Z5 Premium Dual for Malaysia. Lucky fans selected to go to the launch will be notified and required to RSVP as they will also receive goodie bags worth RM200 and can participatein various activities like a lucky draw to sweeten up the experience. The honor 7 was launched just a bit more than a week ago and it looks like we'll be getting the review unit soon. Priced at a competitive RM1399 the honor 7 looks to bring a number of upgraded tech specs and existing features from previous Huawei and honor smartphones like the honor 6 and even the recently launched Huawei P8 flagship.
