LG Electronics has announced the global launch of their LG G Pad 10.1 tablet. This means that the tablet could be coming to Malaysia soon and it will be bringing many features normally found on the LG G3 which is LG's latest flagship smartphone. These features include:

• Touch & Shoot: Tapping anywhere on the display will focus and activate the shutter in a single step, saving time and that once-in-a-lifetime shot.
• Gesture Shot for Selfies: Simply clenching the free hand into a fist within the shot frame will automatically begin a three-second countdown before snapping the picture for a blur-free photo.
• Smart Keyboard: Reduces input errors by up to 75 percent by tracking and analyzing typing habits and intuitively “knowing” what word the user intended to type.
• Dual Window: Splits the tablet screen and runs two applications at the same time, dragging and dropping content from one window to the other for effortless multitasking.

Xiaomi Malaysia will be selling their new Xiaomi Redmi 1S tomorrow, with a batch of 5000 units starting from 12pm on 8 July 2014. Keeping the smartphone company will be 10000 units of Xiaomi Mi-3 smartphones, 10000 units of 10400 mAh Mi Power Banks and 5000 units of 5200 mAh Mi Power Banks as well. Tech specs for the Xiaomi Redmi 1S are quite competitive with a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4.7-inch 720p display and 8MP rear camera at just RM419. However, unlike the Huawei Honor 3C, the Redmi 1S will only offer a 1.3MP front camera. The Xiaomi Redmi Note will be coming 22 July 2014 at RM509.

Huawei Malaysia recently revealed that 10000 units of their value-busting smartphone, the Huawei Honor 3C will be available at http://www.vmall.my from 11:58am on 8 July 2014. Unlike other third-party dealers and sellers of the Huawei Honor 3C, VMall.my is the official online store for the smartphone and as such, one of the few places in Malaysia to offer the smartphone at it's retail price of RM499. We've noted other sellers offering the smartphone for as high as RM799 and even then, there are still buyers for it. The Huawei Honor 3C brings many value-added tech specs to the market with 2GB of RAM, a quad-core processor, 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. We recently received some admittedly blurry pictures of the ASUS MeMo Pad 8 (ME181C) next to the ASUS MeMo Pad 8 (ME180A) from an anonymous tipster. Well, said tipster has provided again, this time with some clearer hands-on like pictures. From the pictures it is clear to see that the new ASUS MeMo Pad 8 is thinner than before with and overall flatter backside thanks to no rear camera hump. The chrome trim is a nice effect and we hope the white coloured MeMo Pad 8 makes it to Malaysia soon. Still no Malaysia release dates or pricing, so stay tuned for more developments.

ASUS recently released a new update for PadFone 2 users. The last update for ASUS PadFone 2 owners was way back in 2012 so this comes as a very welcome update for the owners of this still premium device. ASUS have since come out with the instructions to update your PadFone 2 which you can see below:

1. Go to http://www.asus.com/Tablets_Mobile/PadFone2/HelpDesk_Download/
2. Select the Driver & Tools tab
3. Select Android from Select OS
4. Select Firmware
5. Select Version WWE V11.8.3.3 and wait for it to download and update

The rumoured premium metal body Samsung Galaxy F just got another press render leak, again from serial leaker @evleaks. This time around, it is the full smartphone but instead of gold, it is a metallic silver colour. While the leak did not go into details many are expecting a 2K display on the upcoming smartphone or one that will provide a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S range of tablets already offer 2K displays so it seems very likely that that would be a feature in the next premium smartphone from Samsung. No Malaysia release dates yet but the Galaxy F is expected to arrive in 2014 perhaps in Q4. As always, do take this rumour with a good pinch of salt but stay tuned for more developments.

The rumoured HTC Volantis or Flounder is the 8.9-inch tablet from HTC expected to be the last Nexus device from Google. Tech specs and features about this tablet have recently surfaced stating that the Volantis tablet will have tech specs that include a 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, 5GB of RAM, 64GB storage, 8.9-inch display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, an 8MP rear camera, BoomSound speakers and a silver aluminum unibody chassis. Serial leaker @evleaks also revealed a HTC volantis macro shot showing that it could be under the Android silver OS Alpha 1.4 program, making it the first tablet in Google's new Android Silver program. No Malaysia release dates were mentioned but it could come in Q4 of 2014.

Lenovo has recently announced the Lenovo Golden Warrior A8 smartphone featuring an octa-core MT-6592 processor from MediaTek. The successor to the Lenovo Golden Warrior S8 will offer a number of other tech specs and features that includes Android 4.4.2, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front camera. The 13MP rear camera will have dual LED flash while the phone itself will support 150Mbps 4G LTE. Lenovo will reportedly use it's own VIBE UI 2.0 along with the Android 4.4.2 but what really stirs things up is the price. According to Lenovo, the Golden Warrior A8 is going for $128 (RM410) which will stir the midrange market up even more. In terms of looks the Golden Warrior A8 will have a generic rounded corner front with chrome siding and artificial leather backside coming in black, gold, red and white. There were no Malaysia release dates but if or when it does arrive, let's hope it keeps the same price point and tech specs.

Samsung recently announced the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini. Confirming many of the rumoured tech specs and features, the new mini version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 will have IP67 water and dust resistance certification, a heart rate monitor and fingerprint scanner. It will retain the same perforated backside and chrome siding while other notable tech specs and features also include:
