It is a rather well-known fact that both Samsung and LG have flexible display technology. According to some reports LG may soon release a smartphone with a curved or concave screen using this flexible display technology. Reports have been rather mixed though as we have a translated report stating that a curved screen smartphone going by the name of LG Z will be revealed in October 2013. However, there is another report stating that an LG smartphone using the same flexible display technology called the LG G Flex would be revealed in November 2013. This could be 2 flexible display or curved smartphones from LG or it could be the same 1 curved screen LG smartphone. Unfortunately other tech specs, features and details are not available at this time. No Malaysia release dates or pricing either but we'll keep you updated when the LG Z or LG G Flex breaks cover.

While Google Glass may have been the biggest name in Augmented Reality (AR) glasses, it isn't the only one as the Optinvent ORA AR glasses finally reaches it's final production stage. The AR glasses offers a larger AR screen than the Google Glass and has the ability to be flipped down or up as you need it. Tech specs and features include a camera, ambient light sensor, noise-canceling microphone, 800 mAh battery, WiFi and Bluetooth, accelerometer, 9 axis motion sensor and Android 4.1.2. While the screen is definitely larger, the overall design is a bit larger than Google Glass but according to the developers, a more streamlined version is on it's way and should be finished in about a year. The Optinvent ORA AR Glasses will be going for $916 (RM2964) which is still better than the $1500 (RM4854) that Google Glass is currently going for. No exact Malaysia release date but it should be available after the aforementioned 1 year making it sometime in October 2014.

Another Android smartwatch with smartphone capabilities to make it past its Kickstarter crowd-funding goal is the Omate TrueSmart smartwatch. Featuring full smartphone capabilities you can use it to make calls or as a bluetooth remote for your smartphone. Tech specs and features for the Omate TrueSmart include:
- 1.3GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor
- 1.54-inch screen
- 512MB RAM / 1GB RAM
- 4GB / 8 GB storage + microSD
- 5MP camera
- Supports microSIM + 3G + quad-band GSM + WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 + GPS
- Android 4.2

- 600 MAh battery
- Integrated Fleksy keyboard
- IP67 waterproof certification
The smartwatch has a standby time of one week and can do practically everything your smartphone can on it's own. The integrated Fleksy smartwatch is quite intuitive, so while you probably won't type the right letters on the tiny screen, the autocorrect translates most words surprisingly well. While it has finished it's Kickstarter campaign, it managed to get more than $1 million and should start shipping to pledgers next month. Those looking to buy the Omate TrueSmart can get the 512MB RAM and 4GB version at $249 (RM805) while the 1GB RAM and 8GB storage version costs $299 (RM967). It will then be shipped in December. For both offers, you can customize the 3G to match the bands in Malaysia and they will also ship worldwide. Check out the video, pics and source for more information.

When the Apple iPhone 5S appeared with Space Grey and Gold it was assumed that other Apple products would also have these new colour options as well. Seemingly confirming these assumptions is a recently leaked image of the Apple iPad Mini 2 in champagne gold. Rather than just a backplate, this appears to be the full tablet as it also features a fingerprint scanner Home button on the front, much like the one found on the Apple iPhone 5S. The pics certainly seem accurate enough to not be fakes but with all rumours do take this with a pinch of salt. While there was no exact Malaysia release dates or pricing the Apple iPad Mini 2 is expected to be announced in the next few weeks or so.

The rumoured Apple iWatch set for a 2014 reveal may have a flexible display as new rumours surface that Apple are working on 3 designs for the smartwatch using flexible displays. These rumours come from Korean media who are the likely makers of said flexible displays like Samsung's Youm and LG's flexible OLED displays. According to these reports, Apple is looking at 1.3-inch, 1.4-inch and 1.5-inch display sizes while "a prototype of the 1.5-inch has already been made". Unfortunately, no other tech specs or features were mentioned and we again have no Malaysia release dates or pricing for the Apple iWatch. Previous rumours indicate that we could see the Apple iWatch in late 2014, which could be the next IFA event and along with a possible iPhone 6 announcement. As usual, stay tuned and we'll keep you posted.

Wearable tech continues to grow, and while Google Glass and smartwatches are the main devices to watch, some other independent developers are creating their own wearable technology as well. The ION Glasses is one of them and features LED-based notifications that only you will see or understand and Bluetooth remote control capabilities. You also won't be noticed as everything has been built into the frame of a normal pair of glasses which can fit prescription lenses, sunglasses and most standard glasses lenses. The way it works is that you set the colour of the LED light according to the notification in the app on your smartphone, perhaps green for an email notification. When you get email on your smartphone or tablet, the LED light will blink and let you know you've got mail. There are 256 colours to choose from and you can also use the built-in buttons on the right side of the frame to remote control your smartphone or tablet, perhaps to take a picture, go to the next slide or listen to music.
