The Vivo Xshot features extreme Hi-Fi and video capture but Vivo may already be working on a new model with upgraded camera features, including an improved autofocus function to enhance user’s photo capturing experience. This upgrade may also introduce a new phase detection system. Phase detection is primarily used in DSLR cameras and is presently in the Apple iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, LG G3 andSamsung Galaxy S5. Quick autofocus ability gives the phone an edge over other models, especially where capture speed is priority. Initial testing shows that the phone may be 0.09 seconds or 30% faster than the iPhone 6. The existing Xshot features a 13MP camera and the successor phone may even employ an upgraded 20MP camera. Rumour has it that Vivo may roll out its next model as early as May 2015. It remains to be seen if the new phone features the above upgrades, but if it does, it is welcome news. There is no news on Malaysia release dates and Malaysia pricing for the new model yet.

Vivo is better known for making the world's first 2K display smartphone and for making what used to be the world's thinnest smartphone. Vivo Malaysia has actually had a Facebook Page since April 24, but news is that they could be bringing their latest Vivo Xshot flagship smartphone to market here in Malaysia. The Vivo Xshot offers tech specs which include a 2.5GHZ quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, a 5.2-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 13MP Sony CMOS sensor with f/1.8 6p lens and optical image stabilization, 4G LTE, support for 128GB microSD cards and offers a 2600 mAh battery. A slightly lower end Elite version retains the same tech specs except for a 2.3GHZ Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. What really takes the cake is that Vivo Malaysia will be bringing both smartphones to Malaysia on 20 July 2014 at RM1799 for the Vivo Xshot and RM1599 for the Elite version.

For the most part, smartwatches and smartbands today are just companion Bluetooth remote control devices you wear on your wrist. You actually need your smartphone around for the smartwatch to work. However, there are some smartwatches that let you do away with the smartphone like the Neptune Pine and Goophone smartwatch, but the latest one is the Exetech XS-3. Following the slab of touchscreen school of design, the Exetech XS-3 is a fairly thick smartwatch that has no back cover for the battery underneath it. This battery comes in direct contact with your skin (and sweat) so we're a bit wary that you might short the smartwatch out (and yourself).
