    Today, U Mobile has announced a new strategic partnership with VIBE Mobile, further expanding its growing Mobile Virtual Network Operator ecosystem in Malaysia. Through the collaboration, U Mobile will provide VIBE Mobile with access to its next-generation 4G and 5G network infrastructure, including domestic connectivity, international services, and roaming capabilities.

    U Mobile, Malaysia’s newest 5G network provider, has inked a five-year wholesale access agreement with Eastel, a new Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) under Anchor Communications, set to debut in Q1 2026. This landmark partnership marks U Mobile’s first-ever 5G and 4G wholesale deal, paving the way for more collaborative opportunities in Malaysia’s fast-evolving telecommunications sector.

    Today, Maxis announced new data pool upgrades for its Maxis Postpaid and Hotlink Postpaid plans. The Hotlink Postpaid 45, 60, and 70 plans, as well as the Maxis Postpaid 79 plannow come with increased data quotas. Meanwhile, the Maxis Postpaid 109, 139, 169, and 199 plans now feature unlimited data.

    To enhance mobile connectivity further in Malaysia, CelcomDigi Berhad and U Mobile Sdn Bhd have announced a partnership agreement. With this initiative, both telcos will be sharing a total of 100 Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) sites across Malaysia, with each party committing to 50 sites each.

Hoping to utilize the best of both telcos, initial signs indicated that there was some improvement but lately, quite a few CelcomDigi users from our Facebook page have said that it has become worse since their merger. On paper, pulling all the resources from both sides should make the mobile internet experience better but it became the opposite instead.
