  • Back in January, we reported how Malaysia’s 5G network coverage in populated areas finally reached the 80 per cent target, hitting 80.2% coverage as of 31 December 2023. However, it seems that the coverage rate has stumbled this year, as only a mere 1.5 per cent coverage increase was recorded in 5 months.

    Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has revealed that the 5G network coverage in Pahang has now reached 65 per cent. Furthermore, a cellular service quality test at the state also found that issues of dropped calls are also seeing a decline.

  • The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has revealed that the 5G network coverage in Malaysia’s populated areas is at 73% as of end-October, just 7% short of the 80% target by the end of the year. However, only a 10.8% adoption rate of the network has been recorded nationwide.
