While it's a known fact that we are surrounded by various radioactive wavelengths, Professor Dr. Tharek Abd Rahman, a member of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), would like to remind people that there's no need to worry about 5G technology affecting our health and well being as there are no conclusive research results that it's harmful.

Earlier today, telco companies such as Celcom, Maxis, U Mobile, DiGi and more have showcased their 5G solutions in Putrajaya earlier today. At the test bed, many of the telcos gave a brief introduction to the 5G technology as well as the benefits that this new network will bring such as higher bandwidth with speeds of up to or even more than 1.6Gbps, lower latency, greater stability, better reception in a crowded area and so on. The network has also been used to conduct a remote brain surgery, in which the surgeon and the patient were more than 3000km apart.

What a hectic week, as we mentioned from our previous Newsbytes, there were several new smartphones launches over the past two weeks and the biggest highlight is obviously the Huawei P30 Series, which has a crazy zoom in feature that can go up to 50x with the P30 Pro, whereas the P30 can go up to 30x. Based on a statement made by China Mobile on Weibo on 16 March 2019, the People’s Liberation Army General Hospital, China Mobile and Huawei, has successfully conducted a remote brain surgery to treat Parkinson’s disease, which makes it the first remote surgery ever conducted on a 5G network.

After the news of implementing 5G connectivity in Putrajaya and Cyberjaya starting from April onwards, Maxis has announced that they have already started its first 5G live trials in Malaysia. The live trial will be conducted in Cyberjaya for six months so far, Maxis has managed to achieve a download speed of 3Gbps.

We all thought 5G would never come to Malaysia, at least not in the next 5 years at least. Well, we may just be wrong as 5G pioneer testing will be coming to Malaysia in April starting with Putrajaya and Cyberjaya.

Also not forgetting the new vivo V15 Pro release in Malaysia on Super Brand Day, and of course - the Samsung Galaxy S10 series has officially launched in Malaysia!

Today at MWC 2019 which is located in Barcelona, Spain. OPPO has officially unveiled the 10x Lossless Zoom Technology as well as their first 5G smartphone. Aforementioned technology uses three different camera sensors, which includes a super wide-angle camera, a 48MP camera as well as a telephoto camera to achieve up to 10 times magnification. Not only that, they have managed to incorporate this technology into a smartphone without adding additional thickness to it.
