    Intel IT predictions for 2015

Intel Malaysia recently held a media briefing with Sumner Lemon, Country Manager for Intel Malaysia and Singapore where he outlined key Intel IT highlights from 2014 and IT predictions for 2015. During 2014 Intel made a big push for Intel powered mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones resulting in many affordable devices like the ASUS ZenFone smartphones and various other Intel-powered tablets. In doing so Intel revealed their new 14nm fabricated processors like the 5th generation Intel Core series and Intel Atom Z3000 series, many of which have already been released in 64-bit powered tablets like the ASUS Fonepad 8 and ASUS Fonepad 7. Last year also saw the introduction of Intel's foray in wearables with Galileo, Edison and Curie all of which are teeny tiny Systems-on-Chips (SoC) much like Raspberry Pi which will enable intelligent devices even on your shirt buttons. New technologies like the RealSense 3D cameras can enable gesture driven computers and notebooks while wireless charging may soon be implemented in airports around the world.

ASUS has officially announced the MeMo Pad 10 (ME103K) 10.1-inch display tablet for just $199 (RM652). However, this flat and thin tablet is purely Huawei and shares many of the same characteristics as it's other flat and thin siblings like the Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 tablet and Huawei Ascend P7 smartphone. In addition, it still looks awesome and comes with some fairly powerful tech specs and features. Is it awesome enough for your tablet needs? • ASUS Malaysia shows Fonepad teaser image, is it Fonepad 8?

ASUS Malaysia shows Fonepad teaser image, is it Fonepad 8?

ASUS Malaysia has just sent out a teaser image for an upcoming Fonepad phablet, this time saying that it will be "slimmer yet larger". Based on the previously released ASUS Malaysia tablet roadmap, we're guessing that this tablet with phone capabilities would probably be the ASUS Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) as it would explain a larger screen but the slimmer 5.06mm bezel. Tech specs for the Fonepad 8 include a 64-bit 1.83GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB / 16GB of storage and an 8-inch display with 800 x 1280 pixel resolution. Other tech specs and features include support for 3G, Dual-SIM, Bluetooth, GPS, a 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. No news yet on Malaysia pricing or exact Malaysia release dates but stay tuned and we'll let you know as soon as we find out. What do you think? Is our guess correct?
