HP Elite x3 smartphone is fully featured Continuum phone, switches to desktop and laptop with ease

HP have officially announced the HP Elite x3 for MWC 2016. While packing plenty of the latest tech specs like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, its main feature appears to be full support for Microsoft Windows 10 Continuum. Featuring the Desk Dock, which when connected with a monitor (and mouse and keyboard), instantly works like a desktop and the HP Mobile Extender, which is a 12.5-inch HD laptop that connects wirelessly to the Elite x3 (can anyone say ASUS PadFone S?) the smartphone is wholly aimed at business users on the go. Coming with an iris scanner and fingerprint scanner, the only thing it seems to be missing is a projector or laser keyboard. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet.

  • Rumours: ASUS PadFone S2 to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor?

Rumours: ASUS PadFone S2 to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor?

The ASUS PadFone S was one of the better value smartphones of 2014, especially since you could slot it into a larger 10.1-inch full HD dock which could then be converted into a laptop with a bluetooth keyboard attachment. Still available from RM777 to RM899 you can check out our detailed PadFone S review for more information but it looks like details about the ASUS PadFone S2 have appeared. This includes tech specs with a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB / 64GB storage, 5.5-inch 2K or 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution display amd 20.7MP rear camera. An 8MP front camera will be available as well with a 3060 mAh battery. The PadFone S 2 tablet dock is expected to maintain the same 10.1-inch display size but bump up the resolution accordingly to 2K or 1440 x 2560 pixel resolutions with a larger 5100 mAh battery. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet but it is expected in March 2015 for probably around RM1299 for the smartphone alone.

  • ASUS makes it easier to transfer to your new ASUS ZenFone 2

ASUS makes it easier to transfer to your new ASUS ZenFone 2

The ASUS ZenFone 2 is really making waves as an affordable yet performance-level smartphone. It turns out that it also has a tool to make the transfer from your old smartphone easier, allowing you to transfer stuff like contacts, calender and bookmark data to your new ASUS ZenFone 2. While it has a whole bunch of different smartphones to choose from like Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Lenovo and LG, it seems that this is the perfect tool for those who previously got an ASUS ZenFone 4ZenFone 5 or ZenFone 6 to transfer your data over. Personally, I did it with my ASUS PadFone S as the list of models available is both comprehensive and up-to-date. The transfer is done via bluetooth though, so make sure your phone supports bluetooth if you intend to use the Data Transfer tool for your new ASUS ZenFone 2.

Updated ASUS PadFone S Plus coming to Malaysia soon?

When it was first released last year, the ASUS PadFone S made a big splash as one of the most feature-filled value smartphones for below RM1K. Retailing at just RM899 it packed in a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage, a 5-inch full HD display, 4G LTE, NFC, IPX2 splash resistance and a 13MP rear camera with 4K and slow motion video recording. While we've yet to see any PadFone S 2 yet, there may be another option in the form of the ASUS PadFone S Plus, which packs in 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on top of everything else. Leaked by Dynamics Distribution, the PadFone S Plus looks to be compatible with the same accessories, including the docking station and wireless bluetooth keyboard. The additional RAM and storage should add on a bit more in terms of performance but it should feel like the original PadFone S so you can read our ASUS PadFone S review here for a clearer idea. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet but it should be soon as Dynamics Distribution is the local distributor for ASUS and many other mobile devices.
