Google is reportedly working on built-in snore and cough detection features for Android devices so as to provide more in-depth and insightful health data. Currently only available for Google employees under the company’s new digital wellbeing study, both features are part of ‘Sleep Audio Collection’ study which may be embedded in Android OS in the future.

If you think your texting game is a bit dry and want to spice things up a bit, then Gboard has got the perfect tool for you. Currently being rolled out to users of the virtual keyboard, Gboard is adding a ‘magic wand’ button that would fill your text with emojis!

As reported by 9to5google, users that have gotten the update said that a new magic wand button would now appear at the top right of the keyboard. Pressing on it will then fill what you’ve written with emojis.

When it comes to smartphone operating systems, most people are familiar with the two common ones - Android and iOS. But did you know there's a third one? Google has been working on Fuchsia with Samsung for some time now, and Samsung could put it on a smartphone in the future.

Earlier this month, Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong announced that its upcoming smartwatch will feature Harmony OS. He also mentioned that other products, including smartphones, will start using the OS too. Now, sources suggest that smartphones with Harmony OS could appear sooner than later.

Nowadays, it looks like Huawei is becoming more self-reliant especially after the ban took place. Although the company has been restricted to access resources from the U.S. for their technology products, they are still constantly coming up with new ideas to wow the crowd. Recently, it is suggested that all of the Huawei products might ditch Android OS and replaced by the HarmonyOS in the future.

Now and then, you may have noticed some Android 10 that have very little RAM but run the full version of the OS. But Google is taking steps to prevent that in the future. The company will be looking to mandate minimum RAM requirements for devices with Android 11.

After announcing a whole new slew of features of the upcoming Android 7.0 N, Google is now asking the internet to help it name the next version of the operating system. As Google I/O is currently underway, they also went to the internets and using the hashtag #nameandroidn, wants suggestions from the public.

Google I/O is now happening in California, and early this morning (1am Malaysian time) Google CEO Sundar Pichai took the stage and gave the opening keynote. One of the things that he mentioned was that the Android 7.0 N is now heading to Nexus phones as many more manufacturers are still updating their devices with Marshmallow. A whole slew of new features are introduced with the yet-to-be-named - in fact Google is asking for your help to name it. The list of new features looks like it can and will change Android in the near term. These are some of the upcoming features we can expect from Android 7.0 N.
