Apple iPad Pro + Smart Keyboard + Pencil Stylus and iPad mini 4 officially announced

Apple also officially announced their business-targeted Apple iPad Pro tablet complete with a Microsoft Surface like keyboard and Pencil stylus. The iPad Pro comes with a 12.9-inch display with 2732 x 2048 pixel resolution. Other known tech specs include an Apple A9x processor and four speakers. The Keyboard has a magnetic Smart Connector that provides both power and data but comes separately at $169 (RM711.07). The Apple Pencil stylus also comes separately at $99 (RM416.54) but there is no place for you to slot it in on the tablet. Looking much like a 6.9mm thin iPad Air 2, the iPad Pro offers up to 10 hours battery life and is fully optimized for use with Microsoft Office and Adobe Apps. No Malaysia release dates yet but the iPad Pro is expected to arrive in November (which means Malaysia could see it next year).

The Apple iPad mini 4 was also officially announced with a slimmer 6.1mm thin case (compared to the iPad mini 3 at 7.5mm) with a zero-gap screen and still 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution Retina display. Other tech specs and features will include an Apple A8 processor, 8MP rear camera and 1.2MP front camera while everything else remains the same. Unfortunately, there is no rose gold option for the iPad mini 4 but it will have a preorder starting from 11 September 2015 with shipping on 25 September 2015. No Malaysia pricing details yet but the 16GB storage iPad mini 4 will be priced as below. Like certain Apple iPhones in Malaysia, the pricing of Apple iPads have also been increased and the iPad mini 3 has been removed from the site.

Check out this 12.9-inch iPad Pro concept render

The concept renders continue to roll out as this time around we get one for the upcoming rumoured 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro. Rumoured to be the device that will bridge the gap between performance machines and consumer tablets, the iPad Pro is said to have hardware that will satisfy engineers, designers and other professionals. Possible tech specs include a 64-bit chipset and processor, a 12.9-inch display with 4K resolution and an Eye ID iris scanner. While we commend SET Solution, the makers of the concept render on their effort, we can't help but think that this render is a bit lacking in polish. Perhaps the tablet is too unrealistically thin or the render quality is a bit low this time around. Either way, you can check out the Apple iPad Pro concept render in this article for yourself.

  • Rumours: Apple's 12.9-inch tablet to have 2K and 4K displays?

Rumours: Apple's 12.9-inch tablet to have 2K and 4K displays?

The next new Apple iPad could very well have a 12.9-inch display, but that isn't all. Apparently, Apple are testing 2K and 4K displays for the 12.9-inch display form factor. According to rumours the 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro could be launched in April 2014 and while Apple are testing 2K displays, the finished product is expected to be packing a 4K display. While it could just be the performance model in the latest Apple iPad tablet series, many are speculating that it would be more of a convertible that would replace or sell alongside the MacBook Air. No news on other tech specs, features, pricing or Malaysia release dates but stay tuned and we'll keep you posted.

  • Rumours: 12.9-inch Apple iPad may be coming in late 2014 as iWatch is delayed again

Rumours: 12.9-inch Apple iPad may be coming in late 2014 as iWatch is delayed again

The rumoured 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro has been making the rounds for quite some time now, with initial rumours saying that we might see it in early 2014. However, some new rumours indicate that we may only see the actual device in Q2 or Q3 of 2014. This is because some sources are saying that Apple has appointed Quanta Computer as the main manufacturer for the iPad Pro with mass production to begin in Q3 of 2014. This would mean we'd only see an announcement and launch in or after late Q3 of 2014. These sources go on to say that since the larger iPad Pro is only expected to target educational and enterprise markets, it will be produced in limited amounts. In related news, Foxconn, Inventec and Quanta are all looking to produce the Apple iWatch with no clear winner in the production bidding just yet. Initial production yields of the Apple iWatch has not been good, further delaying the iWatch until Q2 of 2014 with an expected launch in late 2014. Most industry watchers are expecting the Apple iWatch to come after August 2014, but it could just as well make it's first appearance at IFA 2014, which is where the previous bunch of smartwatches made their debut as well.

  • Analysts predict coming of Apple iPad Pro?

Analysts predict coming of Apple iPad Pro?

A number of industry analysts have voiced opinions that Apple may soon be coming out with a tablet with power to handle high-performance tasks. According to them, this tablet could be called the Apple iPad Pro and would focus on word processing, spreadsheets and presentations (which we feel can already be done with the right apps). Furthermore, they say that the recent announcement of the Apple iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display leaves room for a 'Pro' model to exist. Many of them think that there is a huge market for such a tablet and we'd have to agree with them, but probably not for the uses they've described. There exists a huge market of engineers, designers, programmers and other higher-end users who bemoan the fact that there are currently no tablets which can support their needs. These analysts go on to predict that the Apple iPad Pro may go for a 13-inch screen utilizing the 64-bit A7 processor. Others expect Apple to come out with a touchscreen notebook that could fold into a tablet while weighing under 2lbs much like many of the other tablet convertibles out there. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details were available but with all rumours and opinions do take this with a pinch of salt.
