Rumours: LG G Pad 8-inch tablet coming soon?

LG looks to be coming back into the mobile device limelight as rumours have surfaced about an LG G Pad 8-inch Android tablet. Featuring an 8.3-inch display with an awesome 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, the tablet looks to compete with the Apple iPad mini and other similarly sized tablets. Other tech specs for the tablet include a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 3G connectivity. Other features include the fact that it will be very thin and weigh almost nothing at all, along with nearly non-existing side bezels. While this may seem like more of a wish list than a real device sources are saying that it may come to light as early as September, probably during the IFA 2013 event. Any news about pricing and availability in Malaysia would likely get announced during the event.

  • Rumours: Next Apple iPhone coming 10 September 2013?

Rumours: Next Apple iPhone coming 10 September 2013?

According to insider information, the next Apple iPhone, which should be the Apple iPhone 5S, is coming soon on 10 September 2013. This fits with previous release dates which also happened around this time period and while the rumour circulating is about the iPhone 5S release, it will also mark the final release of other related devices and products like perhaps iOS 7 (which is already in beta 5) and the supposedly low-cost Apple iPhone 5C. While these are the more definite announcements that are likely to happen on that date, bear in mind that the Apple iPad 5 could also make an appearance as backplate housing for the tablet has surfaced. The Apple iPad mini with Retina Display on the other hand is still slated for around 2014 though.

  • Rumours: Leaked Apple iPad 5 housing confirms iPad mini-like design, plus video with front panel

Rumours: Leaked Apple iPad 5 housing confirms iPad mini-like design, plus video with front panel

Pictures showing off the rear aluminum housing for the upcoming Apple iPad 5 or 5th generation Apple iPad have recently leaked. A closer look at the housing confirms that it will go for an Apple iPad mini like design, one with thinner narrower bezels and an overall narrower look than the previous generation tablet. The proof is in the numbers, or in this case the measurements where the back housing is 168mm wide compared to the previous generation which was 185mm wide. While this may result in less space, the screen and height are expected to remain the same with the side bezels shrinking to retain the original screen size. Other changes include dual stereo speakers on the bottom and an updated volume rocker button. No news when this new Apple iPad 5 would be available (in Malaysia or around the world) or for how much but it should be soon. In the meantime, check out the video showing off the Apple iPad 5 back panel and front panel being assembled.

  • Rumours: Gold Apple iPhone 5S and revamped delivery schedules?

Rumours: Gold Apple iPhone 5S and revamped delivery schedules?

While a whole bunch of Apple iPhone leaked images have appeared, from the plastic Apple iPhone Lite to the upcoming Apple iPhone 5S, this is the first time we've seen the iPhone 5S in gold. Featuring the same aluminum unibody chassis with a metallic gold backplate (and teal green Apple logo and wording) the image leak is shown side by side an existing Apple iPhone (or iPhone 5S) and the supposedly plastic Apple iPhone Lite. Whether or not these are real or just cheap knockoffs can't be ascertained just yet as both the real and fake versions come from China, which is where the leaked image of the gold Apple iPhone 5S comes from as well.

  • Rumours: Apple iPad mini + Retina Display Delayed to 2014?

Rumours: Apple iPad mini + Retina Display Delayed to 2014?

If the one thing stopping you from buying an Apple iPad mini is the lack of a Retina Display and you're waiting for the next generation to put it in then you may have to wait until 2014 before it becomes available. Rumours have cropped up that the Apple iPad mini 2 may be postponed to early 2014 due to a shortage in supply for Retina screens. The Apple iPad mini was previously reported to be coming in Q4 of 2013.

  • New Apple iPad and iPad mini coming in September?

New Apple iPad and iPad mini coming in September?

Reports published recently have shown signs that the next versions of the Apple iPad (in this case Apple iPad 5) and Apple iPad mini (Apple iPad mini 2) may be coming soon. As usual the report comes from the parts and supply chain and indicates that the new 9.7-inch Apple iPad may be introduced in September. Parts suppliers are ready for production with no expected changes to existing specs. However, this isn't what is being said about the next Apple iPad mini.

  • Apple Patents Now-you-see-it Now-you-don't Bezel, maybe for iWatch?

Apple Patents Now-you-see-it Now-you-don't Bezel, maybe for iWatch?

Apple really comes up with some interesting patents and one of their more recent patents sounds particularly well suited for devices with small screens, which also sounds particularly well suited for Apple's upcoming iWatch. The patent in question is for a bezel technology that disappears (and becomes touch capable) and reappears (becoming insensitive bezel) when needed. Believe it or not, bezels are quite necessary for most touchscreen devices as they help offer a place to grip, however, for a small touchscreen like on the upcoming iWatch, having a situation where you need a bit more space could come in handy.

  • iOS 7 Beta Released, Supports iPad

iOS 7 Beta Released, Supports iPad

As promised when it was announced recently, the Apple iOS 7 beta 2 is now available to download for developers. Aside from the features announced previously, the new beta enables support for the Apple iPad and iPad mini along with Siri's decidedly better voices and other enhancements. Apart from this not much more has changed except for perhaps a combined iTunes and App Store settings menu, working Voicemail and better UI enhancements. The full version is expected to be released along with the next generation of iOS devices (Apple iPhone 5S, iPad 5, etc.) which may be due in Q3 of 2013.

Apple Lists Celcom as Malaysia 4G LTE Carrier for iPhone 5 and iPad Mini

While Celcom has announced their LTE networks for quite some time now, Apple have finally listed them as a 4G LTE carrier, compatible with the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini. Apple iPhone 5 and Apple iPad Mini users under Celcom LTE should expect a carrier software update soon. This should allow users to enable LTE under the Cellular Data settings. 7.85-inch MSI Primo 81 Tablet Trying to be iPad Mini Killer

While the Apple iPad Mini hasn't cornered the 7-inch touchscreen tablet market it does have a rather large market base, which is probably why the MSI Primo 81 is trying to compete with it. What sets it apart from other contenders isn't just that MSI is a more well-known Taiwan brand but also because it is using the exact same 7.85-inch IPS screen with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution made by LG as the Apple iPad Mini. While it does look a bit wider than the iPad Mini, the Primo 81 has nearly identical bezels and shape along with a number of other similar tech specs including:

    • Quad-core Allwinner A315 processor
    • 1GB RAM
    • 7.85-inch display (IPS, 1024 x 768)
    • 3500 mAh battery
    • Andorid 4.2
