Rumour: Apple iPad Mini Retina coming to Malaysia in Q3 2013, iPad Mini 3 in 2014

One of the main issues most people had with the Apple iPad Mini was the fact that it didn't have a Retina display. The Retina display was the one feature that made the Apple iPad such a big thing, so why didn't Apple put in one for the iPad mini? The answer is probably because they wanted to release a Retina-enabled iPad Mini later as current rumours seem to indicate. According to these rumours this new Retina screen enabled iPad Mini is set for release sometime in Q3 of 2013.

Rumours: Apple iPad 5 Casing Mold Confirm Narrower Design

Some casing molds for the Apple iPad 5 have cropped up and look to confirm earlier rumours that the Apple iPad 5 will have a narrower, smaller bezel design much like the Apple iPad mini. due to the curvature of the casing mold it also confirms that the Apple iPad 5 will also be thinner and therefore probably lighter than previous iPad versions.

  • Rumour: How Apple may make the iPad 5 Thinner and Lighter

Rumour: How Apple may make the iPad 5 Thinner and Lighter

Recent rumours and leaks have shown that Apple's next iPad 5 may be going for a thinner and lighter look and feel. This may have been confirmed with last week's news about the narrower front panel bezel but it didn't really explain how Apple would make the iPad 5 thinner and lighter than the already quite thin and light Apple iPad 4. One rumour circling about today is that they will be using screens that use smaller LEDS.

  • Apple Almost Fully Detached from Samsung?

Apple Almost Fully Detached from Samsung?

Previously Apple was quite reliant on Samsung for a number of components not least of which being their iPad and iPhone screens as well as their processor chips. Since Samsung is now their biggest competitor, both in the smartphone as well as the tablet market, it seems prudent that Apple distance themselves and they have apparently done so. Recently Apple decided to use screens from Innolux Corp for its iPad mini touchscreens. While Samsung was originally the one to sever this contract with Apple, it is a telling sign of things to come.

While the 9.7" screen size or Retina (2048 x 1536 pixel resolution) display may not change, the screen for the new iPad 5 may become a bit narrower than the almost square Apple iPad of today. This new design is said to follow that of the iPad Mini more than the traditional iPad design.

  • Apple applies for Removable Touchscreen Laptop Patent

Apple applies for Removable Touchscreen Laptop Patent

Some of the more recent Apple patent applications have been really far out of this world, and the same could be said for this latest patent which files for a removable touchscreen laptop. In essence the patent files for a laptop (with all of the hardware located under the keyboard) and a touchscreen that can be removed and carried about while the operating system is streamed to the touchscreen from the laptop via a 60GHz ultrawideband format. While at first it sounds like Apple is copying the Asus Transformer Prime, in actuality this patent filing is more similar to the Asus Transformer AIO than the Transformer Prime. The only major difference is that the touchscreen display doesn't have any actual hardware of its own, so if you get out of range of the laptop, it will stop working.
