  • Rumours: Lenovo Sisley improves on Apple iPhone 6 design?

Rumours: Lenovo Sisley improves on Apple iPhone 6 design?

When the Apple iPhone 6 first came out, there were several nitpicks over the design which included the protruding rear camera and plastic inlay on the back casing for the antennas. Rumours have it that Lenovo could be coming out with a smartphone that improves on this design, replacing the 8MP protruding camera with a 13MP inset rear camera and moving most of the plastic inlays up to the top. This rumoured smartphone could be called the Lenovo Sisley with tech specs and features that also include a 5-inch display at 720p HD resolution and an 8MP front camera. Unfortunately, there are no other tech specs or details available yet and neither are Malaysia release dates or pricing but we should know more soon. While there is a pink Lenovo Sisley we expect Apple to come down hard on this one, especially since it is from a brand as big as Lenovo.

  • All Apple iPhones drop tested

    All Apple iPhones drop tested

The folks at TechRax did a drop test for all of the Apple iPhone smartphones. This included a side drop and front facing drop for each iPhone onto a hard driveway, revealing that while most of the iPhones can take a beating from the side, nearly all of them smashed from the front. Granted, the front of the Apple iPhone 3G did not shatter but this was mainly due to luck as it dropped on the side first. While it doesn't seem to show any difference from beginning to end, it does show that if you're going to get any Apple iPhone, the first thing you should do is get a shock-proof casing around it quick because an accidental front drop will probably result in a shattered screen. • Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Maxis preorders happening on 10 October 2014?

Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Maxis preorders happening on 10 October 2014?

While there are still no definite Malaysia release dates or pricing details for the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Maxis could be planning to open pre-orders for the smartphones as soon as 10 October 2014. This comes from a teaser image posted by Maxis themselves hinting at the #nextbigthing. Traditionally, the slogan "the next big thing" originally came from the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, however, the teaser image shows toast and a jar of Apple jam, so it could also be for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The reflection seems to indicate 10 while the toaster is all metal and rounded. As it is, China is expected to get the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on 17 October 2014. We're still expecting the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to hit Malaysia in late October or early November 2014 though.

  • Apple iPhone 6 Plus bent again with witnesses

Apple iPhone 6 Plus bent again with witnesses

Rather infamous Apple iPhone 6 Plus benders Unbox Therapy have done it again, this time out in the open, on the streets and with witnesses. Apparently tired of all the conspiracy theories, the video clearly shows that it doesn't take too much force to bend the iPhone 6 Plus and even the Motorola Moto X is brought in to show that other smartphones don't bend as easily. For those getting the iPhone 6 Plus soon or planning to get one, we recommend you get a case for it and take better care of such an expensive smartphone. For those hoping for an apology from Apple, move on, Apple have already said that they'd replace accidentally bent iPhone 6 smartphones and that should be enough for most people. • Apple iPhone camera sample comparison: from the first iPhone to the iPhone 6

Apple iPhone camera sample comparison: from the first iPhone to the iPhone 6

A really dedicated photographer recently took pictures using all of the Apple iPhones from the first iPhone to the latest Apple iPhone 6 and mashed the camera samples up together in a big comparison. While many say that the iPhone takes better camera shots, the mashup clearly shows the evolution of the iPhone camera in terms of depth, resolution and colour reproduction. The photographer offers six types of shots including macro, backlit, daylight, portrait, sunset and low-light. Check it out for yourself in this article.

  • Sony Xperia Z3 Compact battery life benchmarked

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact battery life benchmarked

The newly released Sony Xperia Z3 Compact offers a number of great tech specs and features in a small package that can easily fit into your pocket. While these features include the 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM and 20.7MP rear camera with IP67 water proofing, it turns out that the 2600 mAh battery is also worthy of praise. This is because recent battery life benchmarks place the Xperia Z3 Compact around the top in terms of battery life on single charge. At 10 hours or so of continuous heavy usage, the Xperia Z3 Compact can easily last 2 days without having to charge on normal usage. Checking out the competition, it easily beats the much larger Apple iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S5 and even it's bigger brother the Sony Xperia Z3. • Apple iPhone 6 Plus bends in your pocket and in your hands

Apple iPhone 6 Plus bends in your pocket and in your hands

Another day, another revelation about the larger and thin Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Apparently, the iPhone 6 Plus has been bending simply from being in someone's front pants pocket. This initially came from several posts in the MacRumours forums with quite a few users showing images of their bent iPhone 6 Plus. The folks at Unbox Therapy took it a step further showing that you can actually permanently bend your iPhone 6 Plus with just your bare hands. While we don't think anyone will intentionally try to bend their iPhone 6 Plus smartphone it certainly means that you should not put this thin phablet in your pocket without some form of casing to protect it.

  • iFixit says Apple iPhone 6 Plus has 1GB RAM

iFixit says Apple iPhone 6 Plus has 1GB RAM

The Apple iPhone 6 Plus got a detailed tear down from the folks at iFixit confirming that the larger Apple iPhone 6 phablet only has 1GB of RAM. They go on to show that the iPhone 6 Plus is also just a bit easier to repair than the previous Apple iPhone 5S. According to them, the iPhone 6 Plus has a repairability factor of 6 over 10. The iPhone 5S had a repair factor of 5 out of 10. Unfortunately, the drop test for the iPhone 6 Plus did not go as well as the drop test for the iPhone 5S so you may have to be a bit more careful with the latest and largest iPhone. Check out the video for yourself in this article but if you'd like more details about the tear-down do check it out at the source.
