We’re just a few days away from the official release of iOS 16 and it looks like Apple is adding yet another new feature to the iPhone OS. Spotted inside the iOS 16 RC to developers yesterday (7 September 2022), the system can now detect counterfeit AirPods and accordingly, warn users when they try to connect them to their iPhones.

Apple released a slew of new products during its ‘Far Out’ event today which includes the refresh to its super popular active noise-cancelling (ANC) earphones, the AirPods Pro. The 2nd generation AirPods Pro sports various improvements over its predecessor, most notably an improved sound quality and noise cancellation.

Brazil’s government yesterday (6 September 2022) ordered Apple to stop selling iPhones without a battery charger in the country, claiming that the tech giant is providing an incomplete product to consumers. Moreover, Brazil’s Justice Ministry also fined Apple 12.275 million reais or ~RM10.718 million and ordered Apple to cancel sales of the iPhone 12 and newer models.

Samsung has a history of targeting Apple products in its ads, especially in the United States and ahead of the launch of the iPhone 14 Series, the South Korean tech giant is back at it again. This time around, Samsung posted an ad called ‘Buckle up’ which mocks the upcoming iPhones for not having the top-of-the-line specs that the latest galaxy smartphones possess.

We are less than one week away from the release of the iPhone 14 Series and more alleged leaks are coming out regarding the upcoming Apple smartphones. The latest of which is in regards to how the iPhone 14 Pro series will allegedly combine its two display cutouts into one seamless pill-shaped cutout via software.

It was only a matter of time before other brands start to follow Apple's footsteps in removing the charging adapters in the boxes. OPPO will be the next player to do so, as confirmed by the company's Vice President of Overseas Sales and Services, Billy Zhang during a group interview. This move will begin in the next 12 months.

Apple has released an iOS update specifically for older devices in order to fix a major vulnerability that was actively being exploited. Called iOS 12.5.6, the update is now available for iPhones, iPod touch and iPads that can’t run on the latest software by Apple.

Earlier this month, we reported that iPadOS 16 may potentially be delayed and not be released together with iOS 16. Now, Apple themselves have come out with a statement to confirm the matter, saying that iPadOS 16 won’t be getting a public release until after iOS 16 has been rolled out to supported iPhones.

Apple launched a Self Service Repair programme back in April that covers a majority of its iPhone lineup. Now, the tech giant has announced an expansion to the programme to include its laptop lineup, namely the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
