Yesterday, we reported that Shopee may be adding the option for consumers in Malaysia to make purchases via Apple Pay and now, it looks like the payment method is coming to other merchants too. The latest of which is the telco company Maxis, whereby a placard allegedly on display in one of its centres shows that Apple Pay is now accepted there.

After years of iterative improvements of its entry-level iPad, many are expecting Apple to refresh its popular tablet’s design this year. Well, according to an alleged leak of the 2022 iPad’s design, there are some design refresh, though it still retains the dated look. 

The upcoming iPadOS 16 update which was first announced by Apple during WWDC 2022 is expected to be delayed for about a month and will not be released at the same time with iOS 16. This is according to reliable tipster and insider Mark Gurman who got the info from ‘people with knowledge on the matter’.

The smartphone world is pretty much dominated by two operating systems, Apple’s ‘wall-gardened’ iOS on the iPhone and the other being Google’s open source Android on a slew of devices. While Android has always had more users thanks to its open source nature, it seems that iOS is catching up with 2022 seeing a record number of Android users switching to iPhone.

Currently, ads only appear on the Apple App Store's main "Search" tab and in the Search results, but it seems like they're spreading to even more places with this new report. According to 9to5Mac, the tech giant is adding a new ad slot to its "Today" homepage tab and on individual app pages.

Many users globally are reporting that the Apple Online Store are currently down in their region, though it doesn’t seem to affect Malaysia or other regions in Southeast Asia. Currently in certain regions such as the United States, the website is showing a silhouette of the company logo with the message ‘Be right back’ in bold.

The upcoming OS update for then Apple iPhone, iOS 16 will be rolling out to users some time this September with a slew of new features such as the ability to edit sent iMessages. However, it seems like Apple is still finding the right formula for that particular feature, with the latest beta further tweaking how it is implemented.

During the pandemic, the need for gadget devices increased as we were forced to be lockdown at home. However, it seems that the demand has decreased. According to Canalys, smartphone shipments went down 9% in Q2 2022 globally.

Apple is set to refresh its wearable smartwatch some time this September and it may just include a ‘Pro’ version. Furthermore, that particular variant of the Apple Watch Series 8 will also reportedly feature the first redesign since the Series 4.

Apple today released version 15.6 of iOS and iPadOS to all supported devices, which may prove to be one of the last versions of the OS while we await the company to roll out iOS and iPadOS 16. The update brings with it minor tweaks here and there as well as various bug fixes.
