Two days ago, it was reported that the Astro service network was down due to a satellite issue. Thankfully, they managed to restore it back just last night at starting from 9 PM onwards. If you have Astro at home, you are advised to restart the Astro Box first before watching a show.

As you should know, MCO 3.0 will begin tomorrow (1 June) but luckily for Astro users, Astro just announced that some selected channels will be free for the children. News and BollyONE channels will also be free for viewing until 14 June 2021. 

To fight privacy, the Intellectual Property High Court in Kuala Lumpur declared that the sale, offer for sale, distribution and/or supply of TV Boxes or illicit streaming devices (“ISDs”) that can provide unauthorised access to copyrighted works, is considered as copyright infringement under the Copyright Act 1987. With that said, suppliers and sellers that provide TV boxes with illegal access to content protected by their copyright work owners are punishable by law.

With Disney+ Hotstar announced, it has also been revealed that Astro got appointed by The Walt Disney Company to be an official distributor of the platform. Also launching on 1 June 2021, here's how current Astro users will benefit from subscribing to Disney+ Hotstar.

Today, Astro is launching the Ulti Box which is the company's latest addition to a series of connected TV boxes. The Ulti Box is a new compact set-top-box with HD and WiFi functions where customers can find streaming videos on demand, shows and convenient cloud recording. 

In an effort to adapt to the current pandemic, Astro just announced a new #WhateverFromHome campaign plan for Malaysians. From the official website, the plan offers up to 102 channels and an Internet speed at 100Mbps just from RM6 per day.

Today, Astro just posted a new noticed about the payment of bills. Starting from January 2021 onwards, there will be an additional charging of RM0.50 but this is due to using third-party platforms (Astro doesn't collect any of this). Today, Maxis have added a new feature into their Maxis Fibre 100 Mbps package. If you happen to watch a lot of Astro channels, this might be a good one for as you will be able to upgrade freely to 300Mbps with an Astro Bundle from that same plan at RM129/month.

It's Merdeka Day 2020 next Monday and promos are popping out everywhere now. One of them is a combined effort by Huawei Video and Astro to offer users a "Merdeka Bundle" for the occasion. Huawei has said that this campaign is meant to support local movie producers.

What is YouTube Super Stream and why should you care? Well, before we get to that, it seems that Google Malaysia, Astro, Media Prima, Muse and WebTVAsia are collaborating together to present this programme. It's set to schedule tomorrow (15 August) until 16 September for Malaysians to binge-watch a bunch of contents which include TV dramas, anime, movies, and many many more for free.
