Back in November 2022, it was announced that Netflix has officially launched on Astro TV and Ultra Box. The platform was planned for Astro Ulti Box as well and it has now arrived today. Netflix will be available for streaming on the High Definition (HD) enabled Astro Ulti Box. 

Today, Astro just announced that all the subscribers will have a free preview of all its movies and Korean channels on TV and Astro Go. The company just recently won a couple of awards at the Putra Brand Awards 2021 so as a gesture of goodwill, the free viewing will begin on 29 January until 6 February 2022.

Today, Astro has finally announced that Netflix is now officially on Astro TV. Besides that, there is also an all-new Astro pack designed for customers, allowing them to stream all the shows on Ultra Box and soon, Ulti Box alongside Disney+ Hotstar, HBO Go, iQIYI, TVBAnywhere+ and more. 

Back at the end of June, Astro made a surprise announcement of a new partnership with Netflix. Many wondered when will the popular movie-tv/streaming app will make its app to Astro, but it may be quite soon. In fact, Astro just told us that they have released a new remote control for the Ultra box with a dedicated Netflix button.

Today, Astro announced the official launch of the new Astro Ultra Plug & Play Box. As a first-of-its-kind offering, the box allows customers to self-install and enjoy the Ultra Box features of Cloud Recording, Play from Start by simply connecting the box to the TV and internet. The starting price for a new customer is RM39.

Update: Earlier on, we reported that Astro and Netflix could be in a new partnership but it's now confirmed. Astro customers will soon be able to enjoy Netflix access on their connected Ultra Boxes, first at launch, and on connected Ulti Boxes in the coming months.

Two days ago, it was reported that the Astro service network was down due to a satellite issue. Thankfully, they managed to restore it back just last night at starting from 9 PM onwards. If you have Astro at home, you are advised to restart the Astro Box first before watching a show.

As you should know, MCO 3.0 will begin tomorrow (1 June) but luckily for Astro users, Astro just announced that some selected channels will be free for the children. News and BollyONE channels will also be free for viewing until 14 June 2021. 

To fight privacy, the Intellectual Property High Court in Kuala Lumpur declared that the sale, offer for sale, distribution and/or supply of TV Boxes or illicit streaming devices (“ISDs”) that can provide unauthorised access to copyrighted works, is considered as copyright infringement under the Copyright Act 1987. With that said, suppliers and sellers that provide TV boxes with illegal access to content protected by their copyright work owners are punishable by law.

With Disney+ Hotstar announced, it has also been revealed that Astro got appointed by The Walt Disney Company to be an official distributor of the platform. Also launching on 1 June 2021, here's how current Astro users will benefit from subscribing to Disney+ Hotstar.
