Samsung has once again snatched the top spot in the semiconductor industry. According to the latest report, the Korean tech giant surpassed Intel by becoming the world's biggest semiconductor company by revenue in 2021.

TSMC will reportedly enter mass production for the next-generation 3nm process in the second half of 2022. According to the source, the semiconductor manufacturer is on track to supply Apple with its latest technology in 2023.

Previously, rumour has come saying that Samsung will use a MediaTek Dimensity chip for the upcoming Galaxy S22 FE and some Galaxy S23 devices. However, the latest information claims that the Korean tech giant has no plan for the change.

Most of us know that Qualcomm is currently preparing to launch the TSMC variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, namely Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. However, we didn't know that the semiconductor manufacturer is secretly working on another chip as well, and it's the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

Therefore, the semiconductor manufacturer would leave the best to the tech giant, and it might have made someone jealous. According to a recent report, AMD is considering switching to Samsung for its 3nm products due to the TSMC's special treatment for Apple.

It looks like AMD is planning to contribute its technology to another smartphone chip maker besides Samsung. According to the latest report from DigiTimes, MediaTek could be the next to enjoy the benefits of the RDNA graphics chip. However, do note that everything is still in the discussion stage, so it's best to not get your hopes up yet.

Unfortunately, the upcoming Apple iPhone 13 models are likely to be more expensive compared to the previous generation. Recently, TSMC has notified its customer that it will impose a 20% increase on the price of all technological processes. Since Apple is one of the semiconductor manufacturer's primary customers, it's no doubt that the tech giant would be affected.

Based on an official statement by Qualcomm’s CEO, it seems that they will soon be releasing a new product to take on Apple’s M1 chip. The upcoming product will be aims to bring similar performance and efficiency similar to Apple’s M1 chip to Windows laptop and computers.
