During the pandemic, we’ve realized some of the things that we can easily get during normal days, can suddenly become precious treasures. With the movement control order being implemented, many have gone out and ransacked the grocery stores for daily supplies. Among all the stuff, instant noodles and toilet papers appear to be popular when we’re facing this unfortunate virus outbreak. Other than those, the supply of bread from famous household brand Gardenia is also facing shortage and someone is selling it for RM699 online. (What on Earth?!)

Today, the Malaysian government has announced the movement control order will be extended until 14 April 2020. It is not surprising at all as cases in our country have been increasing these few days. Therefore, it is better to stay home for a few more weeks to halt the spread. However, this may not be good news for some of the non-essential businesses especially micro-SMEs. Luckily, Axiata is here to save the day with its subsidiaries Celcom and Boost, as they’re contributing a RM150 million cash fund to support small businesses that are facing difficulties.

We have just passed one week of the Movement Control Order (or restriction, it's the same) and today, our Prime Minister Muhyiddin gave an official announcement about the initiative. As many speculated, the extension for the MCO is indeed true and has been pushed back to 14 April 2020.

Previously, we wrote that the Royal Palace was integrated with thermal scanning to check for COVID-19 symptoms and we thought the airports should have it too. Today, it seems that our wish has come true. According to @MY_Airports, a few thermal scanners have been set up in KLIA main terminal for all passengers, staff and crew since yesterday (23 March).
