The Terengganu State Tourism, Culture and Digital Technology Committee chairman Ariffin Deraman has announced that the 5G network rollout in the state is expected to start in 2023. Speaking at the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly (DUN) during the state’s 2023 Budget tabling yesterday, Ariffin revealed that the 5G coverage will be implemented in stages.

The Terengganu State Tourism, Culture and Digital Technology Committee chairman Ariffin Deraman has announced that the 5G network rollout in the state is expected to start in 2023. Speaking at the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly (DUN) during the state’s 2023 Budget tabling yesterday, Ariffin revealed that the 5G coverage will be implemented in stages.

As announced by U Mobile previously, its customers will be able to use 5G-ready postpaid and prepaid plans when using compatible devices today. Upon visiting the website, the company has already listed all the eligible postpaid and prepaid plans for 5G. 

Maxis Bhd’s board of directors have announced that the company will be seeking shareholders’ approval to enter into the 5G access agreement with Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB). Moreover, the company intends to complete the approvals process by January 2023 and will only commercially launch 5G-related products and services afterwards.

Caretaker Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has lauded the implementation of the Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) 5G access agreement, saying that it will enable mobile network operators (MNOs) in our country to save up to RM30 billion over the next decade. Starting from 1 November 2022, Celcom customers, including Celcom Business customers, who have 5G-enabled devices and are subscribed to selected Celcom postpaid and prepaid plans, will automatically be able to access 5G network services within 5G coverage areas.
