During the weekend, Team Alter Ego (VALORANT) and Myth Avenue Gaming (Dota 2) emerged as the champions of the Asia Pacific Predator League 2025. Both teams claimed the coveted Predator Shield in the sixth edition of the event and walked away with a substantial USD 65,000 (~RM293k) in prize money each.

Yesterday, the Predator League 2025 Malaysia Qualifier Finals was held in One Utama with Malaysia’s top teams - Team Myth Avenue Gaming (MAG) and Team Unsigned5 in the finals, taking the victories in their respective games - DotA 2 and VALORANT, respectively.

Today, Acer Malaysia announced the APAC Predator League 2025 Grand Finals will be played out in front of a live audience at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur on 11 - 12 January 2025. The best teams from 14 regions across APAC will participate and stand a chance to lift the Predator Shield along with a USD400,000 total prize pool (that's around ~RM1,724,000).

Valve's video game digital distribution service Steam recorded a new milestone over the weekend after it hit over 10 million concurrent in-game players for the very first time. Specifically, 10,082,055 users were in-game concurrently on Saturday (7 January 2023). 

Previously, we reported that Steam, Epic Games, Reddit and various other websites and online services have been blocked in Indonesia because they didn’t comply with a new law to have a Penyelenggara Sistem Elektronik (PSE) permit. Now, gamers in the country (well, at least games on Steam) can breath a sigh of relief as Steam is now operational again in Indonesia after the gaming platform complied with the new law.

That's right DOTA fans, this video game is getting a Netflix adaptation! Promptly titled DOTA: Dragon's Blood, it will be officially released on Netflix on 25 March 2021 and it was developed by Studio MIR hailing from South Korea.

With our local government increasingly supporting eSports, the latest news is about the Selangor Cyber Games 2019 and the registration has officially started. According to the Selangor government, four game titles have been announced for the tournament with a total prize money up to RM215,000.

The organizing committee of SEA Games 2019 has announced titles such as Dota 2, Arena of Valor, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Starcraft 2 as well Tekken 7 will be the official games of the event while the 6th and last title will soon be announced in the near future on Razer’s official Twitter account.
