Geely has announced the success of building a battery for an electric vehicle (EV) that can be used for up to 50 years or the equivalent of 3500 charging cycles and travels nearly 1 million km. The Aegis Short Blade Battery also can charge up to 80% in just 17 minutes. Recently, Malaysia’s Proton CEO, Li Chunrong said that Proton could be coming out with their first electric vehicle or EV “very soon”. Whether or not this means we could see said Proton EV appear commercially in 2024 or 2025 has yet to be revealed, so there are obviously no exact Malaysia release dates just yet.
