Do remember the post we made about Google saying the Pixel series will stay as premium devices? Well, news flash - there’s suddenly a new leaked information about Google secretly planning a new budget phone, or so we think it is according to how we interpret Rick Osterloh (Google Vice President)'s statement.

While we might still be far away from the next generation release of the Pixel smartphone, but AndroidPit recently had the chance to talk with Rick Osterloh, head of hardware at Google, during MWC 2017, and here are some details about its successor, the Pixel 2.

Several charts released by the benchmarking company shared online covers the ranking of smartphones that were put through its benchmark test last year. Antutu is a favourite platform for owners (and reviewers alike) to test and see if their new smartphone has passed the test to be one of the best in its class.

Again, last week had no really dominating news but there were some notables. Caving in to the pressure, Microsoft have announced that the full Windows 10 experience may soon run on Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Fitbit are buying Pebble, effectively marking an end to the initially crowd-funded Pebble smartwatch.

Google launches the Google Pixel for quite sometime and finally we got our hands on it here in Malaysia. It packs a tech spec of Snapdragon 821, 4GB of RAM, 2770mAh battery, 12MP camera with laser autofocus and f/2.0 aperture.There are lot more features coming from the Pixel,so do check this video below for more details!

It was inevitable but it looks like the Google Pixel is the latest smartphone to get torture tested in the video below. Done by the folks at JerryRigEverything the tests include scratch and bend tests along with a lighter test as well. Check it out for yourself below.

The biggest announcement of the week remains the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones along with their Daydream View headset and a number of other devices. It's a big day for Google as the company unveils its Pixel smartphone. The phones drop its existing Nexus branding in favor of "Pixel", a nod to Google's existing tablet and Chromebook line. Both run on Android 7.1 Nougat, Google's most recent mobile operating system.

With the Google Pixel, the company also announced several new accessories for the phone, which includes a new VR headset. The new Google Daydream View headset will work with the Daydream-compatible phone, and will only cost USD 79 (~RM 327).
