Recently, news reports surfaced about students selling the PerantiSiswa tablets they got for free. With that said, the Minister of Communications and Multimedia Tan Sri Annuar Musa informed that the tablets have a tracking system installed and will enable the government to find out who sold them.

Malaysia and China have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on digital telecommunications cooperation in relation to 5G, digital economy and cyber security. The Finance Ministry (MOF) in a statement yesterday announced that around 2 million Malaysian youths will receive an RM150 e-wallet credit starting this mid-April. Part of the government’s ePemula scheme, those that are eligible include youths aged 18 to 20 as well as full-time students in higher learning institutions.

Furthermore, those eligible would get to enjoy the benefit through one of four e-wallet providers, which are BigPay, GrabPay, ShopeePay and Touch ’n Go. MOF said that the four e-wallet service providers have a network of 1.2 million retailers in Malaysia.

MCMC Chairman Fadhlullah Suhaimi recently announced on the MyDigital Future-Accelerating 5G Zoom meeting that the 5G will not be bid through public bidding. Instead, the 5G network will be leased to an SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) that’s owned by the ministry.
