The HUAWEI Mate 50 series launched in Malaysia this week, and we got the Pro variant this time. Like many top-end flagship smartphones, it promises incredible specs and features to match. Of course, the question is always: What makes it stand out?

HUAWEI Malaysia today announced that it will release several new products in our country on 3 November 2022, spearheaded by the HUAWEI Mate 50 series. Allowing Malaysians to experience the best of its elegant designs and innovative technologies, the launching event can be viewed on HUAWEI’s Official Facebook at 4.45pm on the aforementioned date.

Apple has already tuned its Face ID to recognize users' faces even when wearing a face mask. Now, HUAWEI finally introduces its version of support for the feature. The brand has announced recently that the HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro's face unlock will now be able to detect users' faces without removing the face mask.

Despite not having access to some technologies, it doesn't stop HUAWEI from working on its next flagship Mate 50 series. According to HUAWEI Consumer Business Group Strategy Marketing Department Vice President, the series is still in the making. However, the news came in February. We might have gotten closer to the announcement, which could be why we're getting the new renders of the Mate 50 Pro from the internet.

HUAWEI has a tradition of launching two flagship smartphone series in a year. One of them is the P series, while another one is the Mate series. The company had successfully presented the P50 series earlier this year, even though it was postponed due to well-known reasons. For the latter, it's reported that the Mate 50 won't make an appearance this year. However, it seems like it was a false alarm, and the company could actually launch the series before the end of 2021.

Every year, HUAWEI will present its P series followed by the Mate series at a later time. Although the Mate 50 series' launch is considered far from now as it's suggested to be announced in October, the latest news is claiming that the Mate 50 Pro will feature a massive 7,000mAh battery.
