    Huawei wants Malaysian youth to make a better world with OH MY WEI-DEO 30-second video challenge

    Huawei recently announced their OH MY WEI-DEO 30-second video challenge. Open to youths in Malaysia, Singapore and other Asia Pacific countries, youths are expected to make short videos based on themes like a “Better Connected Campus”, “Safe Campus” and a “Better Connected City”. The challenge ends on 22 April 2016. Check out the sample in this article or the site for more information.

    Prizes include a a 2D/1N trip to Universal Studio Singapore, three sets of Honor 5X mobile handsets and 10 consolation prizes of RM500 Starbucks card each. Just for your information, this isn't the first time honor have done this as they've shot their devices with a rifle and used actual explosives to show just how tough and durable their honor smartphones really are.     This just in from our friends at honor Malaysia, but it looks like the honor 5X has sold an impressive 3000 units as of 5pm today. The pre-order for the honor 5X opened today at 12pm over VMALL.my, Lazada and DirectD with this number very likely set to rise higher, at least while stocks last. The honor 5X brings a number of features and tech specs to Malaysian users such as a premium metal body, fingerprint sensor and 5.5-inch full HD display for just RM899 for the grey and silver versions, while the gold coloured version is going for RM939. Check out our tech specs and hands-on video below but if you're interested, better get it now. The honor 5X will be delivered on 19 February 2016 so you'll get yours by the end of the week.

    While the honor 5X and honor 7 Enhanced Edition were both previously launched as well as priced in Malaysia, there was only a pre-order for the honor 5X with no release date for the honor 7 Enhanced. The folks at honor Malaysia have since cleared thad up announcing that the metal frame, fingerprint sensor equipped smartphones will be available tomorrow on 16 February 2016 at 12pm. 

    The honor 5x still packs in an RM899 price tag for the grey and silver versions, while the gold coloured version is going for RM939. The honor 7 Enhanced Edition brings better tech specs like 32GB of storage and NFC over the honor 7 at RM1499. Deliveries for the honor 5X pre-order will be done on 19 February 2016, so you won't have to wait long.
