honor Malaysia are stirring up the smartphone market again by bringing in the honor 5X which was officially announced for Malaysia today. Looking much like a larger 5.5-inch display honor 7 without the customizable Smart Key and infra-red blaster, the honor 5X looks more premium with a brushed metal back. Coming along for the ride is the honor 7 Enhanced Edition which features bigger 32GB storage. The honor 7 Enhanced Edition also looks more premium with shiny metallic front bezels in gold. No pricing details or release dates for the two smartphones yet but the honor Band Z1 smartwatch was also launched as well for RM259.

The honor 5X maintains the same premium look with a larger 5.5-inch display

A closer look at the honor 5X reveals a very premium metal build, similar to that on the honor 7 but looking much nicer with a brushed metal backside and perforated top and bottom. The 5.5-inch display is clear and responsive while still offering full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. While the rear fingerprint sensor is still as fast as before, there is no customizable Smart Key on the side and no infra-red blaster. The buttons are still metal but have a less premium look to them rather than the circular design of the honor 7.
