As of yesterday, U Mobile Sdn Bhd has announced that customers will now be able to opt for Huawei devices when they subscribe to U Package - the interest free, all-in-one postpaid plan. From now on, U Package customers will enjoy the competitive monthly rates for data and voice offered by Hero Plans while being able to purchase Huawei Honor 4C, Huawei Honor 5X and the latest Huawei P9 smartphone at subsidised rates and payment may be made over a period of 24 months completely interest-free.

Surprise, surprise, it has already been 2 years since honor Malaysia opened their doors to Malaysia’s value driven masses as they celebrated their 2nd Anniversary in Malaysia with an all day bash for media and their honorarians or honor fans.

The recently released honor 5X continues to offer premium metal looks and tech specs or features such as a 2nd generation frameless fingerprint sensor, 5.5-inch full HD IPS display and 3 different card slots (microSIM, nanoSIM and microSD) for a price tag below RM1000. While it has already been blown up by 1000 fireworks and still survived, the folks at Khaleej Times and Sa7i.com have decided to put it through some other torture tests, including scratch, burn, drop, hammer, liquid nitrogen and being driven over by a moving vehicle torture tests. The honor World Carnival is back for the 3rd time this year and will begin from 4 April 2016 till 8 April 2016 from 10.08am. The rush buy in particular will include the chance to buy an honor Band Z1 smartwatch, honor 4C and more for as low as RM1, with 10 units for each model. VMALL.my will also be partnering with Lazada, KFit, Red Box and VuClip to give out cash and discount vouchers up to RM120.

The final day on 8 April will also offer an RM50 discount voucher on VMALL.my for a free selfie stick with every honor 5X or the honor 7 with the honor band Z1 and a selfie stick for only RM1529. honor accessories will be available up to 88% off for that day as well.

Huawei recently announced their OH MY WEI-DEO 30-second video challenge. Open to youths in Malaysia, Singapore and other Asia Pacific countries, youths are expected to make short videos based on themes like a “Better Connected Campus”, “Safe Campus” and a “Better Connected City”. Prizes include a a 2D/1N trip to Universal Studio Singapore, three sets of Honor 5X mobile handsets and 10 consolation prizes of RM500 Starbucks card each. The honor 5X from Huawei’s value added honor branch looks to offer even more value with its shiny, full-metal body, fingerprint scanner enabled features and more for below RM1000. In fact, even the most premium gold coloured version is only going for just RM939 (officially) but is it just premium looks and a few upper-end features or does it really bring enough value to it’s price tag? The honor 5X is currently making waves here in Malaysia thanks to it's premium features and full metal good looks at fantastic pricing but how does it compare against its equally value-packed predecessor, the honor 7? This just in from our friends at honor Malaysia, but it looks like the honor 5X has sold an impressive 3000 units as of 5pm today. The pre-order for the honor 5X opened today at 12pm over VMALL.my, Lazada and DirectD with this number very likely set to rise higher, at least while stocks last. The honor 5X brings a number of features and tech specs to Malaysian users such as a premium metal body, fingerprint sensor and 5.5-inch full HD display for just RM899 for the grey and silver versions, while the gold coloured version is going for RM939. Check out our tech specs and hands-on video below but if you're interested, better get it now. The honor 5X will be delivered on 19 February 2016 so you'll get yours by the end of the week.

While the honor 5X and honor 7 Enhanced Edition were both previously launched as well as priced in Malaysia, there was only a pre-order for the honor 5X with no release date for the honor 7 Enhanced. The folks at honor Malaysia have since cleared thad up announcing that the metal frame, fingerprint sensor equipped smartphones will be available tomorrow on 16 February 2016 at 12pm. 

The honor 5x still packs in an RM899 price tag for the grey and silver versions, while the gold coloured version is going for RM939. The honor 7 Enhanced Edition brings better tech specs like 32GB of storage and NFC over the honor 7 at RM1499. Deliveries for the honor 5X pre-order will be done on 19 February 2016, so you won't have to wait long.
