Based on a statement by a weibo user, it seems that the Huawei Mate 40 will come equipped with a single hole-punch camera at the front while the Mate 40 Pro and Pro Plus variant will have a pill-shaped cutout instead. While there’s no official information on the availability date, our source did mention that the smartphones will come equipped with an IMX588 as well as the IMX516 image sensor, with the latter being a ToF sensor.

While not much official information in regards to the chipset has been revealed, our source did mention that it will most likely be present on the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 series smartphones.

Based on a statement by androidheadlines.com it seems that future Huawei smartphone could come equipped with a rather large lens at the rear which could drastically improve the picture quality of the pictures taken. Even though the patent showed pictures of how the lens could potentially look like, there is still no official information on the exact tech spec of the camera system for now.

With that said, there is no news on which smartphone will be the first to be the first commercially available smartphone to have the aforementioned camera.

While not much is known in regards to the tech specs of the device, we do know that it will most likely come equipped with a 5nm process chipset and a 9P Freeform lens technology.
