Based on a statement by a user on weibo, it seems that the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 series might not come equipped with an in-display selfie camera after all. With that said, there is no news on which smartphone will be the first to be the first commercially available smartphone to have the aforementioned camera.

HUAWEI has always been releasing new generations of HUAWEI’s Kirin processor and mate series between September to November. Despite the ban from the US, recent reports mentioned that the HUAWEI Mate 40 series will be arriving on time between this coming September to November.

Based on an image posted by @DSCCRoss in reply to @UniverseIce on Twitter, it seems that the Huawei Mate 40 will most likely come with a 120Hz display. While not much is known in regards to the tech specs of the device, we do know that it will most likely come equipped with a 5nm process chipset and a 9P Freeform lens technology.

We often caution you to take rumours with a grain of salt and there's a good reason for that. Take the Huawei Mate 40 series, for example. A few weeks ago, it was suggested that the device could come with a Kirin 1020 chipset. But the latest rumour claims that it'll be equipped with the Kirin 1000 chipset instead.

It seems that a recent coverage by mydrivers.com has mentioned that the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 smartphone, which is due to be released somewhere around H2 2020, could come with the HiSilicon Kirin 1020 chipset. While not much has been confirmed in regards to the exact performance specs of the aforementioned chipset, the source has mentioned that it might perform up to 50% faster compared to the Kirin 990.
