It seems that the Huawei Mate 40 series may have been spotted on SIRIM, hinting that the smartphone could most likely be unveiled somewhere around December 2020. While not much is known in regards to the exact release date, we can expect the smartphone to be priced much lower than 1199 Euros (~RM5880) on the European market.

While we are still waiting for news about if Huawei Malaysia plans to import the Mate 40 series, we just read some news that a metal casing is apparently not good for the phone at all. This was answered by Bruce Lee, Vice President of Huawei in regards to third-party cases since the official protective cases have sold out.

Based on a statement by techsina, there could be a possibility that there will be a Pokemon-themed Huawei Mate 40 series which features a PokeBall decal at the back along with the Pokemon logo. While there is information in regards to whether the case in the renders will be sold to be public or not, this gives us a rough idea on what to expect when the case is officially available for purchase.

Other than the Huawei Mate 40 series that was just unveiled, Huawei also announced the Huawei Porsche Design Watch GT2 which is priced at 695 Euro (~RM3406) which comes with largely the same features as the original GT2, except for a more luxurious design. Not only that, but there’s also the Huawei FreeBuds Studio at 299 Euros (~RM1465), which is a pair headphones which is capable of achieving up to 24 hours of continuous playback on a single full charge.

Based on a statement by a weibo user, it seems that Huawei could be planning to release a Huawei Mate 30 series smartphone called the Mate 30 Pro E during the Mate 40 launch that’s happening very soon.
