    New Huawei tablet found on 3C could be a new MediaPad model

    Most people don't use tablet these days, but Huawei continues to make some rather impressive ones. In particular, the recently launched MatePad Pro 5G is a high-end model that can even be used for basic productivity tasks. Sources now claim that lower-end Huawei tablets could be on the way.

    The Huawei Mediapad M2 has appeared before in France but recently it got it's official launching, which means we could soon see it coming here to Malaysia. Tech specs and features are surprisingly similar to the Huawei P8, with a premium metal body, Kirin 930 processor and 3GB of RAM. While there is already a 6.8-inch display Huawei P8 Max, the Mediapad M2 packs in an 8-inch full HD display instead. The Mediapad M2 does decrease the camera specs though but even then, you don't often see an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera on a tablet. Design-wise, the Mediapad M8 is 7.88mm thin but the overall flat and thin design with curvy corners remains the same. Features also include 4G LTE connectivity and dual 1W speakers with Harmon Kardon Clari-Fi audio technology while a 4800 mAh battery keeps the lights on. No Malaysia release dates yet, but we expect the Mediapad X2 to arrive first. Pricing for the Huawei Mediapad M2 start at 1588 CNY (RM972) for the 16GB WiFi only version, 1888 CNY (RM1155) for the 16GB 4G LTE versions and 2288 CNY (RM1400) for the 64GB 4G LTE version.

    The Huawei MediaPad M2 tablet was recently revealed in France for €349 (RM1397). The flat and thin tablet with an 8-inch display a more grippy chrome trim but retains the same metal body and high screen to body ratio as the previous MediaPad M1. Tech specs and features have obviously been upgraded with a 64-bit 2GHz octa-core Kirin 930 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and 8-inch display with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. Other tech specs include an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 4G LTE connectivity and Android Lollipop along with a 4800 mAh battery. Retaining the flat and thin look, the MediaPad M2 measures in at 7.8mm thin and weighs 310g but the price is higher than the previous RM1099 of the MediaPad M1. No Malaysia release dates yet but it should arrive in France or Europe sometime in June 2015.

    Thanks to Huawei Malaysia, we managed to get some time with the Huawei MediaPad M1 8.0 tablet and since made a hands-on video which you can see below. This 8-inch display tablet offers the same flat and thin look as the Huawei Ascend P7 and Huawei MediaPad X1 along with a similar metal unibody chassis. Dual stereo speakers and a HTC One-like look make it a very nice looking tablet while tech specs that include a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8-inch IPS LCD display with 800 x 1280 pixel resolution, 4G LTE connectivity and massive 4800 mAh battery. The tablet retails at RM1099 for the Huawei MediaPad M1 8.0 4G LTE while the Huawei MediaPad M1 8.0 3G goes for RM899.     The Huawei MediaPad M1 8.0 combines the looks of the HTC One and the Apple iPhone in a single flat and thin 8-inch display tablet that should look awesome. We managed to get some time with the tablet and did the following unboxing video so you can see what else comes with the Huawei MediaPad M1. Other notable tech specs and features of the Huawei MediaPad M1 includes a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8-inch IPS LCD display with 800 x 1280 pixel resolution, 4G LTE connectivity and massive 4800 mAh battery. The tablet comes in two flavours with the Huawei MediaPad M1 8.0 4G LTE going for RM1099 while the Huawei MediaPad M1 8.0 3G goes for RM899.     We've been quite excited with what the Huawei MediaPad X1 has to show us and we've since gone hands-on with the tablet smartphone. While sporting a 7-inch full HD screen, the overall design of the tablet is 80% screen to body placing it well above the other 7-inch tablet competition. Featuring 2.99mm super slim side bezels, the MediaPad X1 is also one of the most compact tablets available in Malaysia. At 7.18mm thin it is also one of the thinnest and thanks to it's aluminum alloy unibody chassis it is also very tough. For the full hands-on, check out the video in this article.

    The Huawei MediaPad X1 or Honor X1 tablet makes a splash as one of the most powerful 7-inch tablets with smartphone capabilities around. Recently introduced in Malaysia along with the Huawei Ascend P7 smartphone, the tablet packs in tech specs which include a 7-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, 2GB RAM, 4G LTE, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and super slim design. Priced at RM1399 for the 4G LTE version and RM1299 for the 3G version, Huawei Malaysia were kind enough to provide us with a unit for review.     Huawei Malaysia launches Huawei Ascend P7 for RM1499 and more 4G LTE devices

    After quite a bit of teasing about the upcoming products to be revealed along with the Malaysia launch for the Huawei Ascend P7 smartphone, Huawei Malaysia launched the smartphone today and confirmed practically all of the other products teased earlier. This includes the Huawei TalkBand B1, Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 3G / 4G LTE, Huawei MediaPad M1 8.0 3G / 4G LTE and Huawei Ascend G6 3G / 4G LTE. The Huawei Ascend P7 features tech specs which include a 1.8GHz HiSilicon Kirin 910 quad-core processor, 5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution screen, 13MP BSI rear camera, 8MP BSI front camera and 4G LTE connectivity. At just 6.5mm thin this smartphone is one of the slimmest flagship level smartphones in the market while still managing to pack in even more features and better design than the previous Huawei Ascend P6.
