    A recent filing on the US FCC site from Huawei may just give us some insight on the upcoming models from the China-based company. H1622 and H710VL are the models that was registered with FCC – and seeing that the Huawei 6P was registered with the model H1511, this could be the next model in line.

    Reports indicate that Huawei could be making another Huawei Nexus device this year after last year's Huawei Nexus 6P. Honestly, we're not surprised, as the Nexus 6P is by far the best Nexus device yet but this rumour actually comes from a statement made by Charlene Munilall, Huawei South Africa, General Manager. No actual tech specs or Malaysia release dates and pricing details were revealed but we assume that it will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and at least a 2K display with the capability to support Android Daydream VR.

    Previously, we mentioned about two possible upcoming Nexus device from HTC, but apparently an unreleased version of the Huawei Nexus 6P  was also spotted on GeekBench earlier, revealed new tech specs which include a Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 1.59GHz and 4GB of RAM. The device is running the latest Android N version too.

    Apart from the Huawei Mate 8 and other CES 2016 announcementsHuawei also revealed that they managed to ship 108 million smartphones for 2015, gaining the #3 position in the global smartphone market and the top smartphone position in China. Revenues were more than $20 billion for 2015, almost a 70 percent increase over 2014.

    Huawei attributes this success to continuous collaborations made with other top brands such as Google (resulting in the Huawei Nexus 6P), Swarovski (resulting in new Huawei Watch designs)  and Harmon Kardon (resulting in the MediaPad M2 tablets). Here in Malaysia, Huawei not only rolled out the Nexus 6P, Mate S and Honor 7 but also started off their Smart City solution. According to Huawei, 2016 will involve more collaborations, building upon the momentum of their achievements in 2015.

    The Huawei Nexus 6P has barely been in the market for more than a couple of days and already, 1000 units of the device has been sold. Initially, the first 600 to purchase the device (going for RM2698 in Aluminium and Graphite) from either VMALL.my or Lazada were slated to also get Free Google ChromeCast worth RM199 but with 1000 and more already sold, Huawei Malaysia are now offering a free Nexus 6P casing and a pair of earphones with the next batch of Nexus 6P smartphones. Lazada will be offering another 100 Google ChromeCast. This offer is valid for those who have purchased the Nexus 6P from 11 December 2015 onwards.

    The Huawei Nexus 6P and Huawei Watch have officially landed in Malaysia today at surprise, surprise RM2698 and RM1799. Both devices are full metal but the Huawei Watch does come with a Black Metal plated version at RM1999. The full metal unibody Nexus 6P comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a fingerprint sensor, dual front speakers, USB Type-C ports and a 12.3MP rear camera with super large 1.55-micron pixel Sony sensor that can record 4K video at 30fps. The equally premium looking Huawei Watch on the other hand sports a round 1.4-inch AMOLED display with 400 x 400 pixel resolution. 

    Both devices will be available starting 10 December 2015 at VMALL.my and Lazada but if you're looking to get up close and personal with them, they will only be available at the Huawei concept stores late next week. You'll still have to buy them online but the first 600 to do so will get a free Google Chromecast. Huawei Malaysia are planning to bring in a number of cases and straps and accessories but there are still no specific Malaysia release dates.
