Honor comes full circle with Honor 8 metal frame and 2.5D glass front and back design

The Honor 8 is coming soon to Malaysia with its metal frame and beautiful curved 2.5D glass front and back. Boasting a new sapphire blue colour, the premium metal frame, glass front and back and dual camera setup comes full circle from their earlier metal frame Honor 6 Plus which was launched here in Malaysia last year but adds more curves, beautiful patterns and features than before.

  • Rumours: Huawei P8 live pic leaked, reveals metal frame?

Rumours: Huawei P8 live pic leaked, reveals metal frame?

The upcoming Huawei P8 has been spotted ahead of it's expected announcement on 15 April 2015. While the leaked pic is blurry and unclear, it does reveal a full metal frame, chamfered edges and a more rounded corner bottom. Previously, the Huawei P7 had a curved bottom which according to them was based on a water drop. The leaked pic looks more like that of the Honor series but the back looks like it will retain the same multi-layer glass cover as before. Previous rumours indicated that there could be a layer of cubic zirconia (artificial diamond) in there as well but it was unclear if it is just the back, front or both. Other rumoured tech specs and features include a Kirin 930 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 5.2-inch 1080p display, dual 13MP cameras and a 2600 mAh battery. Official teasers about the P8 have indicated that it could be stronger, more affordable and have better battery life than it's predecessors but still no news on a Malaysia release date or pricing yet.

  • Could the upcoming Huawei P8 be more power saving?

Could the upcoming Huawei P8 be more power saving?

The Huawei P series of smartphones are more known for their performance and super thin chassis but the upcoming Huawei P8 could well get a new power saving feature, at least according to Huawei themselves. Huawei recently released a teaser image for the upcoming Huawei P8 which suggests that it could have a new power-saving feature. Considering that the Huawei Ascend P6 and Ascend P7 were both quite thin, it would be safe to assume that the P8 would also be thin and not likely to pack in a large battery. This means the teaser could indicate a more efficient method of extending battery life than before, perhaps even getting 2 days worth of battery life in a single charge. The teaser does not reveal anything else like other tech specs, Malaysia release dates or pricing but many are expecting the Huawei P8 to arrive on 15 April 2015 with an octa-core Kirin 930 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 5.2-inch full HD display and 13MP camera with dual LED flash and OIS. Stay tuned for more developments.

    Rumours: Huawei P8 pics leaked?

Set for announcement at MWC 2015, leaked pics of the Huawei P8 have surfaced, showing bits and pieces of the smartphone encased in a casing of some sort. The casing hides much but we expect the P8 to be thinner than the P7 and have a mostly metallic body. Huawei have indicated that they would be doing more premium products so tech specs and features for the P8 should probably be high-end as well. No confirmed tech specs yet but the P8 is expected to get a 2GHz Kirin 930 processor, 3GB RAM, 64GB storage, 5.2-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera and Android 5.0. Early AnTuTu benchmarks reveal a score of 47426, which is about as high as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet but we should find out more next week.

  • Rumors: Huawei P8 to feature zirconia ceramic body, dual cameras and Kirin 930 SoC?

Rumors: Huawei P8 to feature zirconia ceramic body, dual cameras and Kirin 930 SoC?

A few days back, a leak said that Huawei's upcoming flagship for 2015, the Huawei P8 could be released in April 2015. Now, a new report from a Chinese website reveals more tech specs and features about the device. The Huawei P8 is said to feature a new material, possibly zirconia ceramics instead of the traditional plastic and metal housing. The device would be further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on both the front display and the rear panel. Coming to the tech specs, the P8 flagship is expected to feature the company's new octa-core Kirin 930 processor based on a 16nm HiFet manufacturing process. There is no word on the RAM or the internal storage of the upcoming device. As for the display, the phone will most likely sport a 5.2-inch IPS panel with 1920 x 1080p resolution. Like its predecessor, the Huawei P7, this new smartphone will be thin, measuring only about 6mm in thickness. In comparison, the P7 was 6.5mm thick. The report says that Huawei will bring its dual camera setup on its new flagship as well. Considering the thickness, the phone will reportedly feature a rather small 2600 mAh battery. The same source further reveals that the Huawei P8 will retail for around 2999 Yuan (RM1710) in China but there are no exact Malaysia release dates just yet.
