The HUAWEI Mate 40 series had arrived last year with the standard Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, and a Porsche Edition Mate 40 Pro RS. After that, the Mate 40E is said to be in the works as it was spotted on Wireless Charging Alliance. As the whole Mate 40 lineup uses the Kirin 9000 chipset, the upcoming Mate 40E is also expected to come with the same chipset. However, it is reported that other devices like the P50 series, Mate X2, and MatePad Pro 2 will also use the Kirin 9000.

After the trade ban being imposed on HUAWEI, some other Chinese smartphone manufacturers might also worry that they will face the same challenge. We can't deny that HUAWEI took some time to build the HarmonyOS to serve as the alternative to Google's OS. Therefore, if it happened to the others, they will also need some time to develop an in-house OS. Recently, the CEO of HUAWEI Consumer Business Group Richard Yu said that HarmonyOS will be made available for other smartphone manufacturers.
