At the IFA 2020, HUAWEI was supposed to announce the world's first commercial 5nm mobile processor at their keynote that happened on 3 September. However, it looks like the plan has changed as the 5nm process (a.k.a Kirin 1000) was nowhere to be found. It is reported that HUAWEI is trying to stay low profile to avoid drawing unnecessary attention.

As per tradition, Huawei would always introduce their latest Kirin chipset at the IFA event annually. For this upcoming IFA 2020 event on 3 September, it was previously reported that the Kirin 1000 would be the next chipset but that could be no longer the case. Thanks to a new report, the company could unveil the Kirin 9000 chipset for the Huawei Mate 40 series.

Previously, it was said that Huawei is gearing up to unveil its latest Kirin chipset at IFA 2020 on 5 September. However, it now seems like the upcoming Kirin 1000 could be the companies last flagship chipset. A new report claims that the company is being forced by current circumstances to stop producing its high-end chips beginning in September 2020.
