Today, Maxis has announced a new partnership with Lazada Malaysia and even made an official online store! A collaboration for the 11.11 sale tomorrow, both Maxis and Hotlink users will be the only telco customers in Malaysia who can grab some Lazada deals directly from their Maxis, Hotlink prepaid and Hotlink postpaid apps. Here's how it works. 

Previously, we wrote about which Apple iPhone 12 series smartphone would be the right one for you based on features and needs. Now the latest iPhones are finally available in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM3399 on Apple Malaysia's official website. Not only that, but it's also available for pre-order via telco companies such as Digi, Celcom, Maxis, as well as U Mobile.

Previously, we reported Opensignal's analysis of Malaysia mobile data usage during the pandemic and they seem to suggest that there's a lack of WiFi network access. The company didn't stop there as they are back with another new report about our average mobile data consumption and download speed experience during the original MCO period.

As Malaysians stream more videos online during this year thanks to the pandemic, Maxis just announced that all Maxis Postpaid, Hotlink Prepaid and Hotlink Postpaid users will be able to enjoy one-month free iQIYI VIP access with additional 10GB data. Of course, you will have to sign up with iQIYI on Maxis TV for the first time. 

While some states are currently in CMCO or EMCO, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has just announced in their Facebook that our local telcos are once again giving away 1GB of internet data for free. This initiative will be done every day until 31 December 2020.

Looks like Maxis has finally rolled out the VoLTE feature, which is now available in Malaysia starting from today onwards. With that said, it is best to note that only select smartphones support VoLTE for now with possibly more coming in the future.

It seems that Maxis briefly unveiled the VoLTE feature on their official website, showcasing the features and benefits the technology provides such as high-quality calls, fast call setup, as well as seamless switching between voice and video calls. However, for some odd reason, Maxis decided to take down all mentions of VoLTE on their website which might hint that the pages were not supposed to be up until a later date.

Just yesterday, we reported that some local telcos including U Mobile, Celcom and Maxis were fined by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for having fake prepaid SIM card registration. In responding to the matter, Celcom has reached out to us with an official statement below.

Today, we saw an interesting tweet from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) about fake prepaid SIM card registration. Apparently, these fake prepaid SIM cards came from U Mobile, Celcom, Tune Talk, Maxis, YTL Communications and Tone Plus without verifying user information. 

Just earlier this month, Opensignal named U Mobile as one of the most improved global networks in the Mobile Network Experience Global Awards (which most of you still can't believe, lol). With that, we wondered if the orange telco has shifted their position or not if compared with the other local telcos.
