Previously, we shared how the Communications Ministry and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) held a meeting with Meta and TikTok today. Well, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has announced the result of the meeting, which has resulted in both companies pledging commitment to address online safety and monitoring criminal-related content on their platforms.

Deputy Minister of Communications Teo Nie Ching has revealed that a total of 1454 contents touching on issues of race, religion and royalty (3R) were removed from social media platforms between January and March this year. She added that the posts were removed after the social media operators collaborated with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
