Now that another movement control order (MCO) is in place, all of us are going to be stuck at home for another two weeks, or maybe even more. We need to be able to stay connected to the Internet in that duration, but not everyone has broadband. With that in mind, YES will be giving away free data again.

Previously, we reported Opensignal's analysis of Malaysia mobile data usage during the pandemic and they seem to suggest that there's a lack of WiFi network access. The company didn't stop there as they are back with another new report about our average mobile data consumption and download speed experience during the original MCO period.

As we get closer to August, many are looking forward to the end of the movement control order (MCO) - that is now in the recovery MCO phase - in a month's time. But that may not happen if the situation progresses in the wrong direction. Earlier today, our government has declared that MCO will be reimposed if the situation deteriorates again.

PDRM has announced the application and schedule for interstate travel recently for each state from 1 May 2020 to 3 May 2020. Meanwhile, for those who are looking to travel back to the city with public transport are advised to apply for permission or travel permit from the Royal Malaysia Police.

The first batch of public and private institutions of higher educations, polytechnics, and community college students is set to return to their hometowns starting today. However, students located within yellow and red zones are still restricted to travel out of their campuses. 

There are many fellow Malaysians that have been stuck in Singapore for the last few weeks, but the situation is finally taking a turn for the better. Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that people who are stuck in Singapore can begin to return, but must do so with an entry permit.

PDRM recently announced that you can apply online for interstate travel using the Gerak Malaysia app during this current MCO period. They’ve also just announced the time table for interstate travel for each state from 1 May 2020 to 3 May 2020. Those looking to travel interstate can apply now until 29 April 2020.
